That he's mixmin's administrator is why he posts so much through mixmin.
Like Chris Caputo of Seattle, WA who abuses his own Altopia newsfeed to
do the same thing to usenet (ie. troll), Steve is probably being paid by
some large corporation to drive usenet into the ground. That's why
there's no placating him, that's why he (like Caputo) is always able to
recall ancient posts on a moment's notice. When you have all the post
retention you like, you can do that.

Like Chris Caputo, Steve has removed most of the pictures of himself
from the internet. Yet he can still be seen here:

Steve used to post to usenet as Hummingbird for years. Since he's a
professional troll, he creates personae with great skill, giving them
unique characteristics but always in the background, there's the same
psychotic overreaction to perceived slights and "Hummingbird" was a
perfect example. When the Hummingbird sock had served its purpose, Steve
killed him off and moved on to his "Ari Silverstein" sock, haunting this
group using that name for a long time.

Steve-Pooh also continually displays his exceptional knowledge of how
usenet and usenet servers work. He also discusses sock puppetry and
posting anonymously to usenet. He often creates sock puppets to answer
in support of his own trolling.

In the same way that Caputo took over updating Newsproxy, a filtering
proxy program for newsreaders, Steve has taken over development of a
Perl language usenet filter named "Cleanfeed":
