Do you know how to set Chrome-based browsers to start with these 2 pages?
(1) chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
(2) blank tab

I never use Chrome itself, but I'm testing with common privacy-based
Chrome-based freeware browsers such as these well-known freeware browsers:
o *Brave* <https://brave-browser-downloads.s3.brave.com/latest/BraveBrowserSetup.exe>
o *Epic* <https://cdn.epicbrowser.com/epicsetup.exe>
o *Iridium* <https://downloads.iridiumbrowser.de/windows/2020.01.79/iridiumbrowser-2020.01.79.0-x64.msi?>
o *Iron* <https://www.srware.net/downloads/srware_iron.exe>
o *Opera* <https://net.geo.opera.com/opera/stable/windows>
o *Vivaldi* <https://downloads.vivaldi.com/stable/Vivaldi.2.11.1811.49.x64.exe>
etc.

Without a shell script, I can easily start the browser set to just one of
those two pages (but not both pages upon startup), using the GUI for that:
o Settings > On Startup > Open a specific page or set of pages > Set pages
Where the choice is either:
o Add a new page, or,
o Use current pages

Do you know how to set Chrome-based browsers to start with these 2 pages?
(1) chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
(2) blank tab

UPDATE:

As anyone who tried these specific pages knows, the problem isn't at all
one of setting multiple "normal" startup pages.

The problem is the syntax sequence of setting this specific (i.e., special)
set of startup pages, particularly when the goal is the Chrome-based
browsers' "Clear" button to be visible and yet still backgrounded in the
1st or 2nd tab such that a single click is all that's needed.

Luckily, I figured out what the trick is for Chrome-based browsers, which
isn't at all obvious until you try it yourself _without_ knowing the trick.

Which means, at worst, for Chrome browsers, it's 3 clicks:
Click 1: (Start Chrome-based browser)
Click 2: (Optionally, select the backgrounded "Clear Browsing Data" tab)
Click 3: (Press the instantly visible [Clear browsing data] button)

I still haven't found the hidden trick for Mozilla-based browsers though.
o *firefox* <https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/>
o *icedragon* <https://icedragon.comodo.com/>
?o *palemoon* <https://www.palemoon.org/download.shtml> <== much harder
o *seamonkey* <https://www.seamonkey-project.org/>
o *tbb* <https://www.torproject.org/download/>
o *waterfox* <https://www.waterfoxproject.org/en-US/waterfox/new/>
etc.

Although I haven't tested all of them with all the engines yet:
o Native
o Gecko
o Firefox

The closest I can get to a solution for Mozilla-based browsers is:
Step 1: about:config
Step 2: browser.startup.homepage = about:blank|about:preferences#privacy

Which, for Firefox, is far more clicks (which I'm trying to eliminate):
Click 1: (Start Firefox-based browser)
Click 2: (Optionally, select the backgrounded "Clear Browsing Data" tab)
Click 3: (Scroll to the "Cookies & Site Data" section) & press [Clear Data]
Click 4: (Press the [Clear] button)
Click 5: (Press the [Clear Now] button)

Anyone know how to get Firefox to be a single click like I was able to set
up for Chrome (once I figured out the specific syntax trick for Chrome)?

SOLVED

BTW, on most Chrome-based browsers and on some Mozilla-based browsers,
"Control+Shift+Delete" should bring up a "Clear" button (which is "Clear
Now" in Firefox) - which - in Chrome based browsers - is the same button -
but which in Firefox based browsers - appears to be slightly different.

(a) Tested in Epic, for example, these are visually equivalent:
o chrome://settings/clearBrowserData > Clear browsing data
o Control+Shift+Delete > Clear browsing data
(b) But tested in Firefox, for example, these are visually different:
o about:preferences#privacy > Clear Data > Clear > Clear Now
o Control+Shift+Delete > Clear Now
(c) And, tested in Palemoon, for example,
o about:preferences#privacy ==> does not work
o Control+Shift+Delete ==> does not work

As for the solution to the original question...

This will set _one_ page to open at startup to the "Clear" button:
1. Settings > On startup (o)Open a specific page or set of pages >
2. Set pages > Startup pages > Add a new page > Enter URL...
chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
4. OK

But when you attempt to repeat the process to set the _second_ startup tab
to "new tab", that's where the GUI breaks down - for example, "Use current
pages" fails; but the settings>onstartup GUI can be overcome with simple
manual input of:
(1) chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
(2) about:blank

One minor annoyance in this method is that the URL "about:blank" shows up
in the blank page (unlike in Firefox, where the address bar is truly
blank).

UPDATE (cross reference)

See also a somewhat related thread for the new Chromium-based Edge browser:
From: Jurgen Meyer <juergen....@gmx.de>
Newsgroups: alt.comp.os.windows-10
Subject: Edge (Chromium) Start page
Date: Mon, 20 Apr 2020 18:38:33 +0200
Message-ID: <bkjr9fhfg2da4ft7j...@4ax.com>

I want to start Edge with an empty page.
I have set the start page to about:blank
But that doesn't help

The first I always get is this page:
https://ntp.msn.com.edge/ntp? ĄKĄK.
(shorted)
How to suppress it?
