Hello,

I don't know the name of the software I'm looking for. I want
something that will take, as input, a text file; and as output, tell
you how many times each word appears in that text, sorted by
frequency.

Maybe that already exists buried somewhere in in some word processor?

Take a look at Word List here:

I've found its functions to be very useful in this context.
