Here's the deal now. I have a HDD that went bad on me. It has tons of
apps on it, and it won't load windows (2000 pro). Is there any
software, freeware, shareware, commercial ware, out there that will
allow me to archive the software apps on the bad HDD, so i can
re-install them on this new HDD?
Is that too sophisticated of an operation for windows to handle?
any help would be appreciated. thanx

I know of a couple of apps for moving installed software to a new
location. I haven't tried them but AFAIK they're for use on a working
system -> IOW they may not help. FWIW. . .
