I am sick and tired of the crappy results I get from all the popular
search engines, most of which block and hide things or try to sell you
things. Does anybody know of a search engine that will access the "dark
web"?

TIA

John C. BS206. No ad, CD, commercial, cripple, demo, nag, pirated,
share, spy, time-limited, trial or web wares for me please. I filter out
posts made from Google Groups and cross-posted (sent to more than one
newsgroup at a time) messages. I recommend you do likewise.

There's a lot of info you can read on this subject. You might start w/
2 separate wp articles which 'distinguish' the terms 'dark web' and
'deep web'. There are a lot of referenced articles in both/each article.

There are also some graphics assembled from other wp articles found in
wikimedia commons under deep web.

It isn't as simple as choosing a different browser. I think you need to
'sort out' your separate issues...

- crappy search results (affected by your search strategy?)
- blocking and hiding things?
- ads, often targeted
- dark vs deep web

There isn't a 'single/just one' answer to all of those separate issues
and concepts.

I am currently trying "Brave Search" (https://search.brave.com) which
seems to be more "private" and less intrusive. Worth checking out IMO.
I'm not sure about the dark web access.

P.S. Brave broser in private mode uses TOR.

If you're asking for a clear-web based search engine, then there isn't any,
and there shouldn't be any. Otherwise it would defeat the purpose of dark
web.

And by dark web, are you referring to the Dark Web network, or other dark
web network such as Tor, I2P or other lesser known?

Isn't there just a search engine that doesn't censor the heck out of the
internet though?

Well, whatever the uncensored internet is called. As Mike Easter was
suggesting, the "dark web" or the "deep web" (which seem to be different
concepts.)
