To find your Gmail creation date, open the Google Takeout service:

http://www.google.com/takeout.

Click on the link to "Transfer your Google+ connections to another account"

Under Source Account, you can read your account creation date.

GMail service was created by Google back in April 2004. The public launch
was sometime in 2007, but there was an invite system where people could
sign up prior to 2007.

My GMail account was created in Aug 2006.

Apparently my account was created on 28 Feb 2004. I've no idea who
invited me.

Here in the UK about a year later gmail.com was dropped in
favour of googlemail.com due to a copyright disagreement not sorted
out until about 3 years ago

Why waste your time replying to a troll who is obviously trying to stir
up shit about this topic? Look at the troll's message headers and notice
the "ccountrynet" in the path statement.

Johnny Screwloose BS206. No ad, CD, commercial, cripple, demo, nag,
share, spy, time-limited, trial or web wares, OR warez for me, please:
just freeware- which I define as legally obtainable, local install
computer programs that can be used indefinitely at no cost, monetary or
otherwise.

Filtering out messagess containing may...@hotmail.com in the "From:"
header will knock out a lot of the forgeries and trolling in this group.
I also recommend filtering out any messages which are crossposted to
other newsgroups.

Forger-trolls use altered headers, rogue services and anonymous
remailers and feeds to hide their identities and to forge messages from
others. Unless otherwise noted, you can at least block messages from
these sources by setting up filters based on the path header for the
following domains: aioe.org, alt.net, anonymous, dotsrc.org,
highwinds-media.com, dizum.com, ecn.org, enfer-du-nord.net,
frell.theremailer.net, goblin.stu.neva.ru, google.com, googlegroups.com,
mail2news, mixmaster.*, newshosting.com, newsreader.com,
news.albasani.nett, open-news-network.org, reece.net.au (in the
Message-ID header), remailer, rip.ax.lt, tioat.net, usenet4all.se,
xsusenet.com, x-privat.org, etc. (as they appear).

We do now, around 2004 -2005 it started as gmail.com then after
UK copyright dispute around 2005 - 2009 it became googlemail.com,
around 2009 after dispute was settled it's went back to default gmail.com

If you had registed a googlemail.com addy 2005 - 2009, since 2009
you can switch to either.

Emails to either domain come through
