jmatt, not getting mushy LOL but you are my new best friend!

The prog has officially replaced three other progs I was using to
dissect, strip, save in a smaller-volume-form all my email.

extracts attachments,messages,email addresses...

it is GREAT!

Hi Jack

Not sure what you're up to here, but maybe you're trying to organize
and archive a heap of old messages. I found Portable Thunderbid to be
the perfect tool for this (see
http://groups.google.com.au/group/alt.comp.freeware/browse_thread/thread/e780057d8a0e562d/0e72348eaf714b32?lnk=st&q=&rnum=3&hl=en#0e72348eaf714b32):

"Fortunately, there is a free way to archive/ backup Outlook/ OE mails
into this format -> Thunderbird. I use it from a USB stick, so use
Mozilla Thunderbird - Portable Edition - http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/thunderbird_portable.
You can import folders, e-mails and address books into their own
profile e.g. MyBackup2006. You can then use any copy of Thunderbird to
view the profile folders, files, attachments etc. "

Once you've imported to TB, you can delete attachments as normal files
- a great advantage of using TB as an archiving tool. You don't have
to reload your archive back into OE to view/ edit/ append it either.
PTB can be your all-in-one mail archive app. Works for me. :)
