Most dupfinders compare files by CRC which is not unique and no
removal/archival options provides. NoClone compares files byte by byte
so dupes are exactly the same in content. Smart marker is time-saving
feature to mark files for removal/archival by date, size etc.
Nick from PCPro UK uncovered 8GB mp3 from 30GB library after using
NoClone, 25% disk space saved.

That's really a comprehensive list. I'd add one more, Total Commander,
a shareware file manager with Norton Commander origin. It provides a
very good file finder with an option for duplicated files. It nags a
little furing startup but not crippled and will not expire, try it at

Shouldn't be a duplicate in sight by the time I get testing all these
programs.

There are many shareware duplicate file finders. Why mention any of
them here ? Perhaps you didn't read the name of the newsgroup ?

can find duplicate mp3s by ignoring ID3 tags.

It's very cool. It can do exact, byte-by-byte dupes, you can set up
folders to include/exclude, filesizes to search for/ignore, etc. And
these options can be saved for re-use. Also, you can specify what
filenames to include/exclude. [EG, *.ZIP, *.RAR, *.EXE, *.CAB or
filename*.* etc].

Also: skip/include zero-length files, match by size, match on text,
etc. Lots of options, this one I love!
