I've searched for something that will compile nearly 1500 html pages
into a single executable file. All the freeware I can find limits the
number of pages to 500.

Anyone have any wisdom for me?

Thanks.

One could also use CDBurnerXP and alike to create an ISO file....

How do you get a cd/dvd autostart with the file you want?

You will have to create a file called autorun.inf in the root directory
of the CD /DVD. It´s a textfile on which the startparameters are written.

How to make an autorun.inf file:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/818804

http://www.cdmenupro.com/autorun.htm

http://www.swiftcd.com/faq/autorun.html

Could you be so kind and post a link to your considered best
sub-501 html compiler? :)

Currently using:

'WebSiteZip Packer v1.3' - http://www.spadixbd.com/wsz/

Can be a bit unpredictable, at least with my set-up.

<q> - From the features list.

This Html2exe compiler is the fastest way to produce an e-book.
The compiler has been optimized to handle thousands of html
pages per minute;

</q>

Haven't used it with such large numbers of files, though good
if all goes well. Only takes five or so experimental compiles
to find which configuration suits.

Not sure if this will fulfil your requirements as I only use
it to compile a single set of linked pages, say, the extensive
downloaded 'TrueCrypt' help html files.

Not for a presentation, but for study. But thanks.

I've tried it and it had some trouble, it seems, with the html pages
themselves. I need to look more closely at this one.

I've tried sbookbuilder and it also has some trouble.

I'm beginning to think there's a problem with the files themselves.
Further study later today.

Karenware has a simple way

http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptautorun.asp

I actually used the source code for ideas once. Seemed to work pretty well.
