haveyou got the right version?
I can't find the link, but the vista version was half the size of the xp
version. 22MB back in may 2008.
I dumped that POS Free ZA years ago and switched to Sygate Personal
Firewall which I replaced with Online Armor Free.

It should work on Vi$ta.

This one is the only free download available from their direct page, about
38 MB. A good evening's work downloading on dial up. :-|
Thank you for the thoughts...
Thanks much for the recommendation, I will check that out asap. Much
appreciated.
Thanks for the responses, one and all. PCTools it is, as I need the 64 bit
coverage. And I had been unhappy with the ZA bloat for a year or more but
never knew any other programs that were as well received generally.
Thanks again.
I just installed it and so far so good. :)
What do you guys think of the windows 7 firewall???
There's a free program called "vistafirewallcontrol" that automates
setting up outbound rules much like ZA. Works, but is a little klunky
in the freeware version.
Any other Vista/win7 firewall outbound management tools?

Or perhaps Windows 7.

Windows has always been hell to some... And there are those who stick
with Windows 2000 or even Windows 98. There will always be people who
are afraid of change.

So many distributions... Which one would you recommend to a complete
layman and why?

Out of all the people I know, be it online or IRL, I know only 3 people
who've gone Mac. And one of them doesn't know how to /really/ use it.

How nice for you...

I myself had no problem with XP, it worked better than prior iterations.
Vista came preinstalled on this computer, but I have the option to upgrade
it and so I shall. At least 7 sounds like it was better conceived than
Vista.

Uninstalling ZA gave me problems. In general is Oneline Armor better
behaved when it's uninstalled?

There is more to life than increasing its speed
Well, I hold off upgrading to 7 until sp2 comes out for we all know
Windows history all to well. Let all the Bill Gates guinea pigs get all
the BUGS out of windows 7 first then upgrade after sp2.
I plan to keep XP as long as I can, then upgrade to what ever works
best. Make sure you upgrade to windows 7 professional for it has a XP
compatible setting and you have XP in the back ground. I am not sure how
it works, but I hear this is the way to go so you can keep your XP - if
XP goes to the wind and I'm sure it will.
