Was going to buy a Panasonic ZS15 before realizing it had a proprietary
USB connector.

Got a lot of stuff Kindle, Android phones that uses micro USB. Anyone
know what camera brands use standard micro or mini usb connectors?

Thanks for any help

My Nikon Coolflash is proprietary. I think part of the reasoning is
that you can show videos on TVs using another cable, which might be
HDMI, and the same connector. As I don't own a TV I have no way of
testing this.

Tnks Tony. The micro HDMI connector is not the same as a microUSB but
that's not the reason they're using a proprietary connector

Agreed but maybe the micro HDMI connector doesn't allow for charging
or data transfer and the micro USB doesn't allow for video transfer so
they decided to go with their own.
