Yes, there are still a few aps that I need to use JAWS with, but
there are others that work better with NVDA. (and from what I hear no
one screen-reader is the best with all aps/possible situations)
That being said, I would like to post my comment on the NVDA blog's
release anouncement.

Thank you so much guys/it is a real honor to be the first to comment
here, and I hope it makes you half as happy as it makes me to say that
NVDA is now my #1 screen-reader! I feel that there are a few fine
products to give us blind ppl access to this grand world of computing
and cyber-communications and NVDA can hold its head high among the
best. Nvda is not just a good _free screen-reader; it is one very good
screen-reader, regardless of price, with its own set of unique and
valuable features. I recomend any serious blind-computer user
including NVDA in there access tool kit; no matter how much money they
may or may not have. Keep up the good work. Burt Henry

Just downloaded it. When I get the nerve/time I'll give it a whirl.
Do you think it's good enough to let me abandon Jaws?

It depends for what things you use jaws. If you can write more about it than
we can tell you what you can do or not do with nvda.
