My father received an email a couple years ago, asking him to make his
online version of Nine Men's Morris accessible to the blind. He did a
lot of research into it and with some input from me has finished work
on a command console for visually impaired players.
It is located on this website: http://www3.sympatico.ca/pesullivan/merrelles/English.html
You must have Java installed on your computer for the game to work,
and be running a browser that supports Java.
We tested it on Internet Explorer 6 using JAWS 8.0

No one in the family is seriously visually impaired, so we couldn't
test it based on first hand experience. This is the first version of
the command console released and we are eager to hear feedback on how
usable the whole thing is.

Would anyone be interested in trying it out?

What exactly is it. I've no idea what you mean actually. When you say Java,
do you mean Java or Javascript?

Obviously, if its a Java based program presumably people would need the Java
access bridge installed to make it interface with their screen reader.

I'm not visually impaired, but here's what I experienced. The game works
under Internet Explorer 8, but I could not get Shift Tab to go to the
command line mode.

Mozilla got several Java related error dialogs that said, "Several Java
Virtual Machines running in the same process caused an error."
