I have a question about I-tunes.
When you go into I-tunes and before you transfer files to an I-pod, is that
pull down list, list box whatever for arranging files on the I-pod.
For example if I wanted to transfer BBC "Fear on Four plays" would I for
example have to select the Radio Category and maybe Spoken Word so they are
not just treated as music and up being called Track 01 or whatever it tries
to transfer the files to the I-pod as?

Following is a reply I got in another group. I used this subject line
"iTunes, send electronic text (not music) files to iPod?". I hope
that is correct.

Jaimie Vandenbergh replied:

They'll transfer to the iPod as whatever they are in iTunes. Changing
tracks from one category type to another is not something iTunes will
do for you (unfortunately). Which leaves all of my radio programs as
Music, indeed.

The "Radio"/"Spoken Word" selection you mention is just an index to
Internet radio stations, it won't affect your files. Plus, you can't
transfer those to an iPod, they're only listenable through iTunes.

(You can capture the sound using an external application like Audio
Hijack, save the files, and import them into iTunes - but iTunes
itself won't do that)

By the way... Most if not all of the text in ITunes cannot be
copied and pasted, so I am wondering, does iTunes work with
screen readers? I find no way to change background or font colors.
The only appearance option is to change font size from tiny to
small. The most recent iTunes 9.0.1.8, using Windows XP with a
high contrast background makes text disappear in the Power Search
text box.

Sorry for wasting your bits and mine.

The problem was with hot keys not working correctly it seems? (not sure)
(hope this works)

I don't like itunes-it is big and bloated with stuff that is hard for
the average user to opt out of, (no adequate options when setting up,
and it will continue to re-install the blote if you auto update) I
don't have an i-pod, so have no use for the non-standard format that it
uses to save music. I did like the web-radio variety, but the
interface is less than intuitive, and has many options that I would
never use, but apple is a very visually focused co; what do you expect.
Also the listings for radio stations are not accurate; putting
commercial news and talk stations in the public category for example.

I lost the original reply to this, but it's all good and well/it was as
bloated as i-tunes.
to answer your question-

None of that matters with screenreaders as even if they are using direct
video intercept they get their bits going into the vid card, not from
the screen/I guess they could read white on white, and with out eye
strain....grin... much of the time they are getting info from other
vectors such as virtual buffers, anyway. (NVDA does no video intercept
as I understand)
