In this website you'll find about fifty painted covers of comics published in
Italy and France during the Seventies at the height of the pulp/trash-comics
phenomenon. Crime/horror/sex-comics (and movies) were huge in those days and
interest is picking up again today, fueled by people like Quentin Tarantino who
has recently purchased the rights to quite a few of those movies.
Comics were often the transposition onto paper of those ultra-violent flicks and
covers rapidly became a sought-after collectible, even because quite a few of
them depicted big movie-stars: ALAIN DELON was quite the recurring character in
there (he was on every Playcolt cover), but also ORNELLA MUTI found her way in
dangerous situations with monsters and creeps of every kind, together with other
actors.
