LA-LA LAND RECORDS PRESENTS
JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE FLASHPOINT PARADOX

Featuring Original Music by Frederik Wiedmann

(September 4, 2013– Los Angeles, CA) – La-La Land Records will release the JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE FLASHPOINT PARADOX soundtrack composed by Frederik Wiedmann (BEWARE THE BATMAN, GREEN LANTERN: THE ANIMATED SERIES) on September 10, 2013.

“The score for this Justice League story really has everything, from subtle emotion to all-out action, from intricate tension to epic dramatic themes,” described Wiedmann. “It truly was a challenging and rewarding project. This score was recorded in Los Angeles with a wonderful 30-piece orchestra conducted by Hyesu Yang.”

Though he was born in Stuttgart, Germany, Frederik Wiedmann has been writing music for the very American heroes of the DC Comic/Warner Bros. Animation pantheon. He left Germany and came to Los Angeles, in 2004, to become a film composer. After three years working as an assistant to veteran composer John Frizzell, Wiedmann scored his first feature Return to House on Haunted Hill for Dark Castle Entertainment (Warner Brothers) in 2007.

Since then, Wiedmann has written the music for a wide variety of feature film and TV productions including HOSTEL: PART III (Sony Pictures), MIRRORS II (20th Century Fox), HELLRAISER: REVELATIONS (Weinstein Company, Dimension Films), and THE HILLS RUN RED (Dark Castle Entertainment, Warner Brothers). Wiedmann also teaches a music technology course in the highly acclaimed Scoring for Motion Pictures and TV graduate program at USC. He earned two Annie nominations for the two seasons of GREEN LANTERN: THE ANIMATED SERIES and is composing the music for the upcoming animated series BEWARE THE BATMAN.

“When I first set down with the producer and director for this DC film,” said Wiedmann, “they told me how incredibly dark this story is. Musically speaking, we really anted to give the alternate Universe a very dark, unpleasant and electronic vibe. Nothing is going well in this Universe, our superheroes aren’t what they usually are (heroes), the world is coming to an end, and Flash has to stop it from happening.”

Time travel rights a past wrong for Flash but creates a fractured reality where the Justice League never formed & the world is ravaged by war between Wonder Woman & Aquaman. Flash must team with a grittier Batman & Cyborg to restore the original timeline.

“You will notice a strong shift in mood between the real Universe and the alternate reality,” Wiedmann described. “For the real world, you will hear full blown epic superhero music, whereas the other timeline is threaded by devastation, horror, and despair. This story is an exciting thrill ride, and from a composer’s perspective an absolute treat to work on. I hope you enjoy my score on this soundtrack, the dark, ambient and creepy segments, as well as the heroic symphonic themes that bookend this amazing story.”

La-La Land Records presents JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE FLASHPOINT PARADOX, available on September 10th at www.lalalandrecords.com and other soundtrack boutique retailers. JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE FLASHPOINT PARADOX is available from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group on Blu-Ray™ Combo Pack, DVD and Digital Download.
