1. Green Kryptonite: Saps Superman's strength and could eventually kill
him. Lead protects him from the deadly rays.
2. Red Kryptonite: Unpredictable effects.
3. Blue Kryptonite: Affects only Bizzaros
4. Yellow Kryptonite: Takes away Superman's powers permanently
5. Jeweled Kryptonite?? I thought I heard about this one. Can anyone
enlighten me about it, and more.....if there are any more. Isn't there
white Kryptonite??
W
In the end, Firestorm turned it into mush or something ...and it never
affected superman. I don't think it applies to DC continuity, but it was a
fun story anyway.

Yep.

Right. Each chunk affects him for a short period, but each chunk can only
work once per Kryptonian. After that, it's powerless.
> 3. Blue Kryptonite: Affects only Bizzaros
Right. It has the same effect on Bizarros as green kryptonite has on
Kryptonians.
> 4. Yellow Kryptonite: Takes away Superman's powers permanently
Yeah, except the proper term is "gold kryptonite."
There are only five "official" forms of kryptonite, of which the fifth is
white kryptonite, which kills all plant life.
In addition, however, there are several "lesser" forms of kryptonite.
Including jewel kryptonite, which was esentially a con game by the Phantom
Zone criminal Jax-Ur in ACTION COMICS #310. He created the jewel K and
convinced Superman it caused him to cause gasoline to explode whenever he
was near it. Jax-Ur claimed to have an antidote, but he would only give it
to Superman if he and the other criminals were released from the Phantom
Zone. Superman soon realized, however, that jewel K enhanced Jax-Ur's
telepathic powers outside the Phantom Zone and allowed him to use them to
explode gasoline.
The only other form of kryptonite which comes immediately to mind is
silver K, which was a prank by Jimmy Olsen for Superman's silver
anniversary. There were others, however.

No, it wasn't an Elseworld. It was officially called an "imaginary story,"
but unofficially, it was considered the last story of the pre-Crisis
Superman.

Mr. Mxyzptlk. (In SUPERMAN/MADMAN HULLABALOO, the pronunciation is given as
Mix-yez-pittle-ick, which I kind of like, because if you pronounce it that
way, then WRITE it that way, removing all vowels and double consonants, you
get the correct spelling.)

I think you misinterpreted the ending. Look more closely at Lois' husband,
"JORdan ELliot."

Dude..I'm impressed!!! Thanks for the "update" of an old issue! I used
to be a rabid Superman/DC comics fan back in the 50's!! I don't know why
I stopped reading it (maybe I discovered girls) or something. Anyway,
does the newer Superman comics still have some of the old characters??
Like:
Mr. Mxyzptlk
Brainiac
Bizzaros
And do you remember a comic story line where Lois Lane had a chance to
prove Clark was Superman by cutting his hair?? Apparently, Red
Kryptonite made half of Superman's body vulnerable, and he fell asleep
on a sofa in the office. Well, she thought she was cutting the right
side of his head but "Clark" just had his clothes on backwards and was
sleeping on the other side. I know this sounds wierd, but it was
somewhere back in my DC reading days!!

well alot has changes since the 50's. one thing, i wasnt around until 82.
anyway where now in a era called pre-chris. the whole story was started over in
89? anyway some changes includ superman being less powerful (no flying through
the sun or jugling planets) and the villans where re-done. lex luther is a
billionare bussness man, just a few years ago lois and clark where married.
Anyway to anwser your question yes they still all apear, but there slightly
changed as well. hope this helps. if you have anymore questions ask someone
else becasue i olny have one superman comic from the 50's.

First, don't use ALL CAPS. It's dificult to read and considered rude.
Second, Clark and Lois were joking around there. There's no such thing
as Surfer K. Clark just wanted an excuse to get Lois to "revive" him,
he said knowingly, nudge nudge, wink wink...

Yep. Mxy's virtually unchanged from his earlier incarnation, but you can
no longer get rid of him just by getting to say his name backwards. Now
every time he shows up on earth, he issues a new absurd challenge to
Superman.
>Brainiac
Brainiac is Vril Dox, an evil scientist from the planet Colu (not a computer,
as he once was). Recently, he transferred his mind into a robotic body.
>Bizzaros

The result of Luthor trying to create a Superman of his own, Bizarro was
originally more of a Frankensteinian monster. The original Bizarro was
destroyed, but Bizarros are periodically recreated, and these versions act
more like the pre-Crisis version.
>anyway where now in a era called pre-chris.
Nope. The "Pre-Chris" era ended in 1978. :-)
sorry, ment post, not pre.

As far as I know I have a complete list (excepting hybrid varieties)
