Paul Gross (from DueSouth) as Superman in the new upcoming movie?
I read about it at the film-information homepage
http://www.islandnet.com/~corona/films/allfilms.html.
Good idea! He is tall, friendly, athletic and heroic.
I think he would be a very good choice!

Nicolas Cage is a bit too short for a Superman.
And he doesn't have the right charisma for that role.

What about Dean Cain?

Dean Cain mihgt be a nice guy, but personally i don't really like him
and find him annoying. He stutters too much and doesn't even know that
he should change voices when he is superman and clark. I know he ight
have been a football player but onscreen he seems to wimpy both as
clark and superman.

Paul gross would do okay. I mean with a few modifications such as hair
colour and so forth he woudn't be too bad.

Nick cage would be my second choice, he'd bring a new look to it, if
he was doing superman.

Anyone but cain.

thanks for your time

this was just my opinion not yours.

Just for what it's worth... I actually thought Paul Gross was an inspired
choice.

This name doesn't ring a bell with me. What parts has he played?

I have to agree with you all. Ever since I first heard that there was the
possibility of Paul Gross playing Superman, I was very happy.

Although I think Nicholas Cage is an excellent actor and could bring
something quite interesting and unique to the role of Superman, he would
not be my first choice. Nor my second for that matter!

With regards to Dean Cain, I think he does a fine job on Lois and Clark
for the type of Superman he plays and for the type of show that it is.
But, I'd really rather see something different when I am going to see a
new Superman film. I like Lois and Clark, but I don't want to be stuck
watching Lois and Clark The Motion Picture!

All I can say is that it is a big big shame what happened to Christopher
Reeve (and anyone else in his condition) It really would have been pretty
great to see him play Supes one more time.

I'm done babbling!

Christopher Reeve is currently involved in developing a remake of REAR
WINDOW, in which he plans to star. I hope it comes off.

Yeah, i was pretty happy with him as supes also.

That's true, but i would much more prefer him over dean cain.

Like i said i don't really like dean cain. He's good as clark, but he
doesn't really distinguish a difference between superman and clark
kent. superman and clark act as though they are the same person yet
everyone knows it.

Yes i also i agree with you here. Although it wouldn't be too possible
too play superman he would still make an excellent Jor-El. I would
also like to see him make a chameo appearance of some sort in the new
movie. In my opinion he played the best superman ever, he is a
brillaint actor.

Me too, he seems to be able to play the role of a man who beleives very
strongly in living a moral lifestyle, along with the "All men are
good/trustworthy until they prove otherwise' and 'All life is sacred'
attitudes that are an integral part of the Superman character.

I Feel that Dean Cain is a great Clark Kent, but as Superman, the character
is O.K., but he Just looks a little.......well, weak.
He doesn't seem to have the "Oh my God look who just came into the room!!"
presence which Superman requires.

I whole heartedly agree, Christopher Reeve managed the imposible task, with
a change of stance & a pair of glasses, become a totally different
character. I hope and pray (especially the latter) for a full recovery for
him.

On the subject of the new movie, I hope that they don't go down the same
road as the last Batman flick and focus so much on action that any idea of
characterisation is lost. Two major villains and a sidekick with origins
and all, just didn't work. (Although i think Burton pulled it off in Batman
Returns). Please give us a STORY with superman in it rather than put
superman in a film and try to make a story around it!!

I totally agree with the last person's comments about the Batman films.
They quickly became more about style over substance when Schumacher (whom
Roger Ebert calls, "the most overrated talent in Hollywood" in his Sun
Times review of Batman Forever) took over the franchise. The Superman
films have been great in regards of character development and I hope it
stays that way.

With all the negative and positive remakrs about Nicholas Cage playing
Superman, more negative than positive, I've made up a few lists of
actors I think could be worse than Cage. Also is a quick list of actors
who I think could possibly make a good Superman as well as a short list of
actresses I'd like to see as Lois. Some you may agree with and some I'm
sure you will not.

I suggested Kyle MacLachlan on one of the newsgroups a while back... I
think he could be an excellent choice, although he'd have to bulk up a
bit. Charly Sheen wouldn't be bad either.

I thought about Dana Delaney for Lois too! I think she could play a
"kinder, gentler" Lois, but one who is still very strong and competent.
I'd like to see it! Phoebe Cates or Courtney Cox works for me too.
