Freida.. And no, the little red-haired girl was a different character.
:)
Frieda.

No. In fact, I believe Frieda is usually drawn with blond hair, although I
vaguely recall seeing her with red hair before too. Can anyone confirm or
disconfirm this?

Frieda, she also had a cat named Faron who sagged like a "U".

She used to have brown hair, but now she's a blonde.

Not only did Freida have naturally curly hair, she had the "spineless
cat"! (one of my favourite characters in Peanuts)

I know many answered this, but let me clarify this. Frieda is one of
those snooty, narcisstic girls that thinks she's so special because
she has "naturally curly hair." She would not be the type that
Charlie Brown (or anyone else for that matter, except maybe Faron)
likes. The little red haired girl, I think has more than just beauty
that draws Charlie Brown's infatuation (I know "Heather" that cartoon
postboard figure we saw on "It's Your First Kiss" would seem to be
more like Frieda, but as pointed out well in the FAQ she's not part of
Charles Schulz's world of Peanuts (comic strips) and that's what's
important.

This begs for a trivia quiz!
1a. What attitude of Frieda once induced Linus to kiss her hand?
1b. She followed this up by expressing an opinion that Linus did not
appreciate so much. What opinion? And what was Linus's response?
2. Frieda once went to seek psychiatric help from Lucy since none of
the other girls liked her. Frieda said it bothered her even though
she knew it was just jealousy. What was Lucy's response?
3. Lucy told Frieda that if she wanted to hang around Schroeder's piano
she would have to like Beethoven. What was Frieda's response?
4. After one vigorous but unsuccessful rabbit-chasing expedition, Snoopy
said regarding Frieda, "I hate to disillusion her, but..." Complete
the sentence.
5. Charlie Brown once analyzed his fundamental incompatibility with the
little red-haired girl as, "She's really _____ and I'm really _____."
Fill in the blanks.
>1a. What attitude of Frieda once induced Linus to kiss her hand?
she thought that as long as his blanket gave him security, there was
no reason that he should give it up
>1b. She followed this up by expressing an opinion that Linus did not
> appreciate so much. What opinion? And what was Linus's response?
"The blanket, I can understand, but not the thumb. That constant
slurping simply nauseates me." Linus' response: something to the
effect that there must be hundreds of travel agents who would happily
guide her to another continent

Don't kid yourself, sister
>3. Lucy told Frieda that if she wanted to hang around Schroeder's piano

"Alright, but I'll just have a small glass."
>4. After one vigorous but unsuccessful rabbit-chasing expedition, Snoopy

"I don't even know what a rabbit smells like."

something . . . nothing

Mmm, dat's NICE Max!
There are two different red-haired girls. "The little red-haired girl" is
the girl Charlie Brown has always had a crush on. The one that brags about
her "naturally curly hair" is Freida (sp?), Lucy's friend.
