As far as I can tell, Schulz made this up. It's basically hide-and-seek,
except the person hiding shouts "Ha ha, Herman" when ready.

It was invented by his daughters Jill and Amy in Sebastopol, CA, it's rules are one person hides and the others search as each person finds him or her they hide with them until there is one person left looking, Schultz had the person who hid yell out Ha Ha Herman but his daughters said they yelled Ha Ha and the person hiding yelled Herman, they played it all their lives and later with their children

We tried this ONCE with the neighborhood kids when much younger. Based the rules as explained in Peanuts comic strip. Thought it was kind of dumnb and never tried again.
