Yes, Mets37, you are correct. In fact, in that same show, watch Lucy at
the "psychiatry booth" with Charlie Brown; at times, it appears that she
is 2-dimensional, and is coming out of a little slot on the top of the
table. That, I guess, is because someone goofed when they laid the cels
out, and didn't put her far back enough so she'd appear to be behind the
table (same scene...note the poor artwork on her nickel can..it also at
times looks 2D!).
