Kirby burned by Marvel? Was he given his artwork back?

I've read countless stories about Kirby's troubles with Marvel Comics
over the return of his artwork. How much early artwork of his do you
suppose is sitting framed in some person's living room or den or is on
sale at some comic convention, all of it stolen?
I heard in those early days (of Marvel) that artwork was stored in
warehouse but some was either taken home by employees or given away.
Was much of Kirby's art finally returned by Marvel?
