Great work Susan! Thanks to you and your friend I now know what was
being said in the game. I must add that it was very detailed. But
there are two points I would like to ask you for clarification on.
What is the difference, if any between Panzer Kunst and Kikoujutsu,
and why is it called Panzer Kunst?
From the book at the Mars Castle, Gally learns that it was the Martian
warrior, Teiga Zauiru who founded these techniques which made it
possible for flesh and blood humans to defeat cyborgs. But Zauiru
never gave this martial art a name. It was his student, Mozer
Schneider who refined these methods and called this art, Panzer Kunst.
This is what Gally practices, so there would be, at least some
differences between this and the founding style.
Panzer Kunst, meaning Armor Art, and the Japanese equivilant for this
would be Kikoujutsu/Armor Shell Art. The meaning is the same, but for
a Japanese audience the term Kikoujutsu is used most often in the
script.
Within the Panzer Kunst, German terms are also used. Techniques such
as hinter sense/back scythe, and that both Gally and Zoou, the only
remaining practitioners of this style hold the rank of Meister. Zoou
has changed these techniques to suit his Berserker body, and calls his
own martial art style, Panzer Faust/Armor Fist.
Schneider is certainly a German name, but there is no reference in the
script to his being of German heritage. However, when Gally visits the
remains of the temple city in the Kikoujutsu Valley, she learns from
the Deckman that has remained there for 200 years that Schneider came
to Mars, so it is possible.
