Hi folks,

Well, it's official. The person who will be taking over Shifting Sands is
Alara Rogers.

She's run huge archives before and she knows probably more than I do about
HTML. She's also big into X-Men fanfiction, in fact, I'm sure everyone
knows her name.

I'm feeling really good about this. I think she'll do an excellent job.

Right now, the archive still is on the doghouse server. We're working on
the details about how to get it all over to her server. But I think with
the stuff she has, the transition will go very smoothly.

Thanks to everyone who sent me mail asking about taking SS over. I
appreciate it. It's nice to see that there were so many people out there
willing to give it a shot, rather than see it go down forever.

Warmest Wishes
Darqstar

Hello everyone!

If you haven't missed the start of this thread, you saw Darqstar announce
that I will be taking over Shifting Sands. If you have, well, now you
know. :-)

I should have an announcement of the new URL later in the week. There
will be new submission guidelines, but the basics will remain the same.

My timetable is to start accepting new stories by July 5th and have the
server completely moved over by July 15th. I'll start accepting
chapters for incomplete stories that are archived on Shifting sands right
now. Send them to arch...@mindspring.com, *not* to this address.
Anything I get by June 30th should be up by July 5th. This is for
incomplete stories' new chapters only, not brand new stories. I'll start
accepting them in July.

Folks have asked about the X-S series. I intend to house every story
Darqstar housed, and I will continue to maintain the archive of X-S
stories. However Darqstar is still the creator and must authorize those
stories before I will archive them.

More announcements later in the week-- it's late, I'm off to bed! See ya!
