Dear ACFFers and RACMXers,

X-Writers, the revisionist X-Men fanfiction group, had previously been
whittled down to a slim core of books and authors whilst it underwent
it's prolonged period of crisis. We're now planning to expand again,
which means replacing some of the titles we have cancelled (X-Factor,
Wolverine, X-Men Unlimited, and Angels & Demons). The time has come to
start looking for brilliant people who are capable of creating and
writing new series to join the X-Writers fold, either for ongoing or
limiteds.

We're particularly interested in proposals for the following:

A Mystique series.
A New Mutants series (using the cast of Feron, Alchemy and Magma, and
possibly Karma).
Alpha Flight (or a variant thereof).
The Mutant Underground.

...but anything inspired and original will be granted equal attention.

We'd advise you to steer clear of The Hellfire Club, timetravel, the
Savage Land, the Summers Family, Genosha, the Legacy virus, and Skippy.
Also, be aware that we have an established continuity and all the writers
have their own "protected" casts, so there will be some limitations. On
the other hand, X-Writers produces some of the best and most intelligent
fanfiction around, and hey, we're all really nice (and highly flexible)
people. And you can probably have Wolverine.

If you have a brilliant idea for a proposal, send it to:

aw...@york.ac.uk

Or, if that doesn't work (entirely possible if you use something like
Hotmail), try;

l...@coyote.accessnv.com

Some experience of fanfic writing is essential. Some familiarity with
the X-Writers continuity is preferred, but not essential. Remember to
state your age, archive site (for previous works), and a brief list of
literary infuences (comic book or otherwise).

X-Writers is a non-profit organisation using characters, continuity and
locations which are copyright of Marvel comics. We come in peace, we mean
you no harm. Please keep all responses to private email or, if absolutely
necessary, ACFF.

Mr. Wheeler, don't ever do this to my heart, ever, ever again. Ya should of put in
your heading 'FANFIC, X-WRITERS: Talent Scout.' I actually thought that Marvel
(Mighty Marvel), itself, came to this ng searching for new writers for its books.
And I then find its a fanfic talent search. WellŠ I'm interested in writing ff. Still,
you real suprised me, ya know you could a kill man with these types of surprises.
Well, for anyone who missed it, Mr. Wheeler's letter is reprinted below for your
consideration. This is all I had to say. : )

I will be personally emailing you soon Mr. Wheeler, I'm quite interested in the
mutant underground stuff (WAHOOOOOOOIE!!!).

Luis.
