A friend of mine who is an artist asked me to post this message.

Recently, my friend did some work for Rath Of God publishing in
Connecticut on their comic book, The Chosen. He did inking and
lettering on issues one and two and helped with the production work
and setting up the printing. He told me he had several major
problems with Rath of God.

According to my friend:

1) The owner of Rath of God, Barron Vangor Toth, gave him a bad check
for some of the production work and refused to compensate him for the
charges the bank hit him with when it bounced.

2) The first issue came out and his credit was removed from the first
page of the comic.

3) Mr. Toth informed him he would receive final payment for his work
upon delivery of the completed pages for issue 2. When the pages were
delivered (by hand) payment was not given and Mr. Toth denied all
knowledge that any such payment was due even though he had stated on
the phone earlier that day that he had a check waiting.

The reason for this posting is that my friend would like to inform any
artists that might be approached by Rath of God Publishing that they
have been know to "screw over" artists.

Also, he asks that any comic collectors that might have an inclination
to purchase this comic do not do so. Publishing companies who don't
pay their talent shouldn't be supported. Also, if you happen to see
your comic retailer is carrying the book, please ask him (or her) not
to do so. Support artists' rights.

Thank you for your attention.
