The second pseudo-nominee list for the 2003 Squiddy Awards has been posted
to the rec.arts.comics.* newsgroups. The pseudo-nominee list is a list of
all the creators, books, merchandise, etc. which have so far received at
least one vote in the Squiddy awards balloting. You are NOT limited to
voting only for entries on this list; you may vote for ANY eligible
comic/story/creator/etc.
(But you all knew that--I posted it last week.)
ANYONE who reads or posts to the various rec.arts.comics* newsgroups is
eligible to vote. In many categories one or two votes could make the
difference. After all, your favorite comic, creator, character, or whatever
may just be a few votes away from winning...
(Desperation is SEXY, damnit!)
Ballots must be emailed by the end of the day on Sunday, May 2nd 2004.
Winners should be announced in mid-May. Copies of the ballot have been re-
posted to all appropriate RAC* newsgroups. You can also get a copy via

New Distributed Computing Project Will Try To Eradicate Drug Abuse

Distributed computing projects have been used in searching for aliens, and
hitting on underage girls. Now, Opera has announced a new program that will
allow you to use your spare computing cycles in helping to eradicate drug
abuse. Versions are available for SimCity so download and start crunching.
