This official Watchmen toaster should get Alan Moore even angrier
Tweet
First came the Watchmen movie, then came the prequel comics, and now to
add further insult to Alan Moore's principled injuries, Warner Bros. has
set up a deal to produce an official Watchmen kitchen appliance that
will burn an iconic image into a slice of bread. That's right,
superfans, get ready for the Watchmen toaster.
The announcement of this particular culinary partnership came today from
nerd emporium Dynamic Forces , who will partner with Warner Bros. to
produced collectible toasters featuring imagery from iconic franchises
including The Wizard of Oz, A Christmas Story, Where the Wild Things
Are, Friday the 13th, Gremlins, The Goonies, Friends and, of course,
Watchmen.
Here's a snippet from the company's official press release:
"These collector toasters will imprint iconic images from your favorite
Warner Bros. films and television series onto slices of bread to make a
fun impression on your breakfast, lunch or midnight snack! The
extra-wide slots allow you to not only toast bread, but also bagels and
more. UL tested and approved, it includes illuminated function buttons
for cancel, reheat and frozen. The toaster design is a beautiful glossy
black finish featuring the logo from the film or television series, and
is a compliment to any counter top."
The toasters are expected to be available this September. It's not clear
yet just what image will be imprinted on your breakfast if you get the
Watchmen model, but smart money's on Rorschach's face, because then you
can play that game with yourself where the toast looks up at you and
cries "Save us," and you can look down and whisper "No."
So get ready, fanboys everywhere. Soon you'll be able to smear grape
jelly all over the face of your favorite trench-coat-clad psychotic
vigilante (or one of his friends).
