Cant recall the name, but the best I've seen are in Chaplain's movies.
Others are in Keystone Cops. Check Blockbuster for their old films.

A very good pie fight in hte movie "THE GREAT RACE" - Natalie Wood gets
pied real good.
Also, Laurel and Hardy's "Battle of the Century" episode features a huge
pie fight
There was also a terrible movie recently called, variously, "the Nutty Nut" or
"The Nutt House". Great pie fight. Bad movie.

Pies were thrown in a variety of Chaplin's earliest films, particularly
at Keystone (1914), but, IMO, there really aren't any especially
distinguised pie battles in any of Chaplin.
The consensus opinion on the definitive pie throwing film is indeed
Laurel & Hardy's silent "Battle of the Century" (1928). Among sound
short subjects, the 3 Stooges' "Hoi Polloi" and "Sweet Pie and Pie" also
deliver the goods, though the battles aren't nearly as elaborate as in
the Laurel and Hardy film. There was also a late 1930's sound short
called "Keystone Hotel" that brought together the likes of Ben Turpin,
Ford Sterling, and other Keystone veterans for old times sake. The
battle in this film is also nicely presented.

Sounds like something I need to see. Is it available on video?
