Oh woe is Moe!

Hey let's not forget Moe's great contributions to the Stooges. Besides being
the frontman, business-man, and manager of the team, he could also be really
funny. One of my favorite Moe scenes is when they are playing bridge with
Vernon Dent and drinking punch laced with alum (put there by Curly). The
alum causes everybody to pucker up and the resulting scene is priceless. I
seem to remember that some of the best parts of this short were cut (the
bridge table scene) when the Family Channel ran it last year.

Another one of my favorite Moe bits would be when he would get really scared
by something and his hair would stand-up (blown up by a fan I assume),
accompanied by a "YAAAHHHHHHH!" He's the only Stooge (other than Shemp, with
long, straight hair) who could do that gag, but I don't ever remember Shemp
doing it. I also loved it when Moe would act like a chicken and hide behide
the other guys ("You go first, I'm right behind you") as he trembled with
fear. The Stooges were very good at playing "fear".

That reminds me of a line that Moe said during the first few minutes of Gents
Wihout Cents when the guys were trying to do thew Niagara Falls Slowly I
turned Step By Step, Inch by Inch but and apparently got interrupted by the
three dames in the apartment above, only they didn't know they were girls, they
thought their tapping neighbors were guys.

Anyhoo, they march up to the offending neighbors with the intentions of
creating mayhem apartment and Larry and Curly are about ready to bust in there
and start kicking some Major League butt when Moes says to them "Quiet, I'll
handle this. I'll break their necks I'll bash theitr noses in." then he adds
"And if there's a buig tall muscular guy in there, You'll handle him."
