I LOVE Suncoast and that's where I find a LOT of my videos.....can't give my
thoughts on this one.....not really interested in what the Stooges did after
Shemp....

Have you checked out "www.BigStar.com"? They have a LOT of Stooge videos for
about $11-12....extremely reasonable and the shipping's not bad either......

I have it though i didnt pay twenty bucks? 9.99 at suncoast. No there are no
eyepokes but there are some gags like launching their boat. It's one of the
last times i think you get to see all three before larry had his stroke.

First of all, please don't buy it at Suncoast if they're asking 20.00 bucks ! I
get a lot of my videos there, too, but the stooges catalog is offering it for
only $9.99. I think it was worth the price, but there are no eye pokes or any
slapstick, really. There are plenty of gags. Some friends I know do not like
this video because they're expecting younger stooges and they're particular
brand of humor we've come to know in the shorts. This film is a travelogue that
Moe, Larry and Curly-Joe take you on, and you have to remember: Moe is in his
70's, and Larry and Joe are in their 60's. The humor is gentle as are the boys
with each other. Although Moe and Joe do tease and pick on Larry quite a bit
through out the film. The boys as I see it, are mostly being "themselves", but
all of them still have a wonderful if not corny sense of humor.
So, if you'd prefer younger, physical stooges, you will probably be
disappointed. But if you expect a funny travelog hosted by gentle, senior
stooges who still act up a bit, you may like it. I do, I think there precious in
this. It's a rare look at the boys in their golden years, and it's amazing when
they show the huge following of fans where ever they go ( at one point they show
the boys literally being mobbed by fans asking for autographs or just reaching
out to touch them ) ! Moe narrates the film starting in his den at home and the
film ends there. It was made in 1969 and was never fully completed due to
Larry's stroke, so there's a lot of scenery shots of historic parks and such. I
was able to talk to the Director of Photography on this film, and he said the
boys were a joy to work with, especially Moe who at the end of filming presented
everyone with ceramic gifts that he made himself !
For me it's a piece of stooge history. So the choice is yours... I hope this
helps you out !

It's my understanding that PRINT QUALITY is an issue on ALL copies of "Kook's
Tour". I've heard that it was fairly --and uniformly--pretty bad.
Any comments on THAT aspect of this rarity?

No, it doesn't! And neither does "Self Made Maids" or "Whoops, I'm An

I just watched "Kook's Tour" and am not real pleased with it,
either.....thought they were going to narrate some of the old shorts or
something......
