Watched the special Tuesday night (not too bad) and saw the clip with Curly
and Moe talking gibberish in coke-bottle glasses. What short was that and
does anyone have an mp3 or movie clip of that? I work in an auto body shop
where we keep getting interrupted by those damn telemarketers and I'd love
to just start doing that bit into the phone to make them think it's a legit
language and try to find someone in the office who can translate it to make
the sale.

Dent: "What priceless gifts does the Raja bring?"

Moe: "QUIET!"
Curly: "Ohhhh..."
Moe: "The Raja says that he is the bearer of a rare jewel, known as the...."

Curly pulls out a big red lollypop and Dent sees it.

Dent: "A RUBY! A ruby as large as a turkey's egg."
Moe: "The Ruby de Lollypopskia!"
Curly: "It's rasberry."
Dent: "What fire! I have many pidgeon blood rubies, but NEVER have I been
given the rasberry."

Moe reacts to the double meaning.

Dent: "What other rarity does the Raja have for me?"
Moe: "He had some bubble gum, but I think he swallowed it. But, we shall
see, but we shall see."

Moe sits down across from Curly.

Moe: "Maha?"
Curly: "AhHa?"
Moe: "Hello, doe!"
Curly: Hellow, doe."
Moe: "Razbanias yahti benna foochia timinah karonja, that, uh, how do you

Curly: "Razbanias yahti benna foochia timinah karonji.....para neeeeeeechie

Curly fishes out a pen which Dent sees.

Dent: "Ah, the tusk of a black walrus!"
Moe (to Curly): "No leag -dat?"
Curly: "No leag-dat."

Moe is pleased, laughs and taps the pen against Curly's head, then goes over
to Dent.

Moe: "Gaurrenteed forever."
Larry: "You shall live so long." (BOP)
Dent: "Ask the Maha...."
Curly: "AhHa, Razbanias yahti benna foochia timinah karonji....."
Moe: "Sit down, you Flatbush flat head!"
Curly: "Oh, shut up, I don't have to! Hmmmm!!"

(Curly takes a spill while trying to sit back down. Moe and Larry help him
up.) " Woo woo! Oh, oh! Ngaaaaaaa!"

Curly: "Razbanias yahti benna foochi, I faw down!"

Dent: "Are there fair damsels in the Raja's domain?"
Moe: "Damsels?"
Dent: "Yes."
Moe starts laughing, followed by Dent.
Moe: "We shall see."

Moe goes over to Curly again.

Moe: "Maha?"
Curly: "AhHa?"
Moe: "Razbanias yahti benna foochia timinah karonja Bay Meadows. That Iron

Curly: "Oh, a wolf! Razbanias yahti benna foochi a timinah karonji.....para

Moe: "Me, too... (Slaps Curly)
Curly: "HHMMMMMM! Hit a guy with glasses, huh?"
Moe slaps Curly again.
Curly (really mad): "HMMMMMMMMMMM! All right."
Moe: "Put 'em back. Put 'em back."

Moe goes over to Dent again.

Moe: "The, uh, Maha......."
Curly: "AhHa! Razbanias yahti benna foochi a....."
Moe: "SIT DOWN!"
Curly: "Oh, shut up, I don't have to!"
Moe: "The Raja says that in his domain, on the islands of Coney and Long,
there are some fair chickadees who prowl thru the meadows day and night. If
you give us 'til Sun-up, we shall bring some back by sundown."
Dent: "Excellent! EXCELLENT!! On your way with wing-ed feet!"
Moe: "Come on, Maha."
Curly: AhHa, yahti benna---. WHERE ARE YOU?!" (Bumps into wall and falls
down) "OH!"
Moe: "Pick up your winged feet and let's get goin'!"

Curly bumps into the door and the Stooges exit.

If you can find it (on TV, it's never been released on video), seek out the
feature film "Time Out for Rhythm" (1941). The Stooges are guest stars in the
film and perform the "Maha" routine -- and it's a better rendition than the one
from "Three Little Pirates." A healthier Curly makes a big difference.

Any decent copies of the Amos N Andy series on DVD? I have seen the public
domain VHS copies that have been around since VHS started. But those are
grainy. Footage I see in documentaries is sharp and clear, so there is good
pre-print material out there. I'd like to have the entire run of the TV show,
but would like to get good prints if they are available.

James,

There is a great Amos 'N Andy site at
http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/2587/ run by a guy named schutz. On this
page is a links section with sources to get Amos 'N Andy on both DVD and
VHS. Unfortunately, any company that tries to put out commercial grade
copies gets shut down by CBS who claims to own the exclusive rights to
distribution so the only copies you'll find are by fans for fans. On a plus
note, the copies the fans have are of exceptional quality, usually
transferred from 16 or 35mm film stock and from what I understand, there's a
guy listed on schutz's site (Howard Madden) who is now doing DVD and is
highly recommended. The cost is a little high but quality is great and 71 of
78 episodes are available (6 episodes are unfortunately "lost and missing")
Check it out!

Hi

Actually it is out on video. I've seen it at a record store at a mall I shop
in.
