Here's the vote I wanna take - would you rather see three guys trying to
imitate Moe, Larry and (one assumes) Curly, or three really funny guys
with their own chemistry trying to be the "New Three Stooges"?
My vote would be for new and fresh. Team comedy is all but dead these days
and it's about time it was revived - what was the last team that was funny
at all - Bob and Doug McKenzie come to mind...
I think making a new Stooges movie is a rather sad attempt to cash
in on the name. A new Stooges movie would be a diabolical waste
of time, something crass like Home Alone or those lame Arnie
comedies. Most people perceive the Stooges as being just slapstick,
but they weren't.
In the UK they tried to make a new "Carry On" (Series of comedy
films made by a large gang of actors from 1950s to the 70s) with
the current "stars" (Young Ones, etc.) and it was a complete disaster.
THe time was wrong, and magic of the original actors was gone,
and it just was a waste of time.
I think they should forget about it, and leave it as it is!

I approve of your idea in spirit, but you just can't form an act like the
Stooges out of thin air. Ted Healy, the Stooge's former boss, tried to
replace them with a new set of Stooges ("Super Stooges" he called them),
but they never clicked.
I'm in favor of tying a Stooge's movie. If it's good, it's good. If not,
it'll soon be forgotten.

I agree with my fellow chucklehead here. It's worth a shot, since the
Stooges have been far too long underrated as a comedy team. Besides,
wouldn't it be great to see someone like, oh, Cindy Crawford or Claudia
Schiffer do a cameo as the sexy babe who gets plastered in the pie fight?
Hee hee!
I loved the "Carry On" films. One line still sticks with me after all these
years, and I have to chuckle whenever I think of the image that went with it:
"Meanwhile, down in the engine room..."
[followed by picture of galley slaves rowing the boat]

Arthur C. Clarke almost got it right -- what he should have said was:
"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from God."
Just never see Carry On Columbus...
