I remember AMC showed this episode once. How come they won't show it
again?

AMC is prohibited from showing 60 of the Stooge shorts. "Booty and the Beast"
is one of them.

I don't remember AMC ever showing it... they did show "Bubble Trouble" in error
during the Jan. 1, 2000 Stooge-launch with Whoopi Goldberg. When was "Booty
and the Beast" shown?... be assured, if they did, it too was accidental and
will not likely happen again.

I dunno, but I do know a lot of the shorts AMC's not showing were shown on the
Family Channel and WGN, the Chicago station......one of them was called "Stooge
TV".........

It ain't a short story, but here's the short version:

Comedy III produced the syndicated "Three Stooges" show with Columbia, and sold
it to about 30 stations. Only 130 Stooge shorts were used for the series...
probably budget reasons since the films were digitally enhanced. This is the
show with the commercial breaks, fake commercials, and animated
fade-in/fade-out effects... produced as a misguided attempt to make the
Stooges' films attractive to younger (MTV/GenX) audiences.

The shorts were also marketed to AMC in their original format. AMC is carried
on basic cable by the majority of cable outlets in the US.

Several of the TV stations that signed on for the commercial package were upset
that their package had to compete with AMC. Some dropped out, some rescheduled
the show for off-peak viewer hours. Others were just plain pissed off.

To appease the stations, AMC was restricted to the same 130 films in the
commercial package.

When all contractual agreements with the commercial stations are met, and when
the producers of the commercial version meet their return on investment, they
will allow AMC to show the other 60 films.
