I think the name of the person who posted this sums it up pretty well.

Check the headers. Any posting with a phony e-mail address originating from
pacific bell.net is probably one of the C-III morons. Could be one of the
Benjamin brothers tring to stir up something. Sales of C-III junky
merchandise must be slow if he's got time om his hands.
What petty-larceny stooges!

Before you buy.
Check the headers. This phony AOL address was sent from PacificBell.net home
of Comedy III. See how the Benjamin brothers feel about fan sites? Their
junky merchandise must be selling slowly so they have extra time on their
hands.
What petty-larceny STOOGES!

I can see Bela Junior hovering over their shoulder as they posted this: Go
for the throat boys... THE THROAT!!!!!!
Someone is selling a copy of Warren's great "Screen Thrills Illustrated"
no. 10 which as all Stooge/Beatles fans know contains a great cover
article on all the boys. I am not the seller, but have had a copy of
this magazine in my own collection since 1969. Follow the above link to
at least see the cover picture.

Boy, you said it, Barb! I hate it when anybody has an unkind word to say
about the Philadelphia run Three Stooges Club, which Larry's brother Morris ran
in the 70's and 80's, until Gary Lassin, Morris's Grandson in law took over the
running of the club and the publishing of the Three Stooges Journal.
One of the early posts in the thread on the Comedy 3 newsgroup grouched about
the Journal's contents. I would say fine, if you like all gloss, no substance.
There are folks that just want to enjoy the Stooges. Some Stooge fans don't
need to know who wrote the song "For You, My Life My Love..." from Woman
Haters, or its original composition, "At Last," which came from an earlier
Columbia Musical Novelty short. They don't need to know details about what the
filming of "Kooks Tour" was like. Or see photographs of one of the still
standing houses that Moe built in Brooklyn when he left Ted Healy and tried to
go into Real Estate. On the other hand, there are fans want to know more about
the Stooges, because it is interesting!
Funny thing, I belong to a few fandoms to which there is both "official" and
fan run publications, and conventions. I never heard of such hostility to this
degree. Sad to say, I also do not see a peaceful resolution, not as long as
this blame game is going on.

It was in response to Benjamin's giving some people a hard time, for
disagreeing wth his opinions, and bringing up the memory of his
step-father, Curly Joe DeRita--to reinforce Bob's own statements, even
though Curly Joe had nothing to do with the discussion!
It is part of an even larger thread where Bob claims his company had
nothing to do with the cancellation of the fan-run, late '90s,
Philadelphia Stooge conventions.
Written by, I guess, an anonymously named, 'Adults Only,' the message
appears on the True Fans Message Thread.
In Reply to Bob Benjamin,
Tell, us, Bob. When Curly Joe WAS ailing, exactly what help, did you
lend him?
How often did you even visit, if for no other reason than to help your
mother?
The great mystery is why your family didn't sue until after Joe DeRita
passed away.
Joe, without a doubt, had the complete and full rights to all moneys due
him.
But would that sweet man, for one second, have approved of the way you
have run your business,
a legacy, you only have, because of his work?
Would a man who held his fans to be important, and who was kind enough
to find joy in making hand-made toys for neighborhood children, like how
you've treated those same fans, and others?
Perhaps, the greatest exploitation of the values Joe DeRita held to be
important,
has been by his step-family.
"HI. Gary. You don't need a false name to post here. I can understand why
you want to be part of our group. This is the only place where the real fans
can get accurate information on whats going on with the Stooges. For
instance, the rumor that ABC is contemplating a weekly series using the
actors from the movie is not true. C3 is, however, planning a new
stop-motion animation TV series with the Stooges. I hope to be talking about
that and other things in the coming days. Glad to have you aboard."
Amazing, isn't it? First of all, what makes Mr. Benjamin so gosh darned
sure, from a few posts, that the identity of "Curley-Cue" must be Gary
Lassin? Is he really so conceited as to think that Gary Lassin is the only
person in the world who prefers the original fan newsletter over his
overpriced sales catalog posing as a fan publication?
Then, he moves on to a topic that was once discussed in this NG, the
possibility of ABC doing a weekly Stooges series using the actors from the
movie. Admittedly, that rumor did make it to this group, but a review of the
thread will reveal that this story was put to rest fairly quickly. The real
jaw-dropper, though, is his presentation of the real info you can get only
from his club: that they're going to do a puppet animation version of the
Stooges! Whoa! And you thought you had problems with the TV movie! I shudder
to think of the Curley puppet's head doing an exaggerated squish as the Moe
puppet slaps him. Doesn't it remind you of when Snoopy performed "War and
Peace" with hand puppets?
Admittedly, the Comedy III club may be the only place where we can learn of
projects such as "Gumby meet Vernon Dent", but when ideas like this come
along, maybe we're better off not knowing.
Yeah, but the so called NG you speak of is also HEAVILY CENSORED! WOe
to anyone who bashes C3. I will NEVER go there again.
