Hi,

Does anyone know the name of the episode where Curly says "I'm
trying to think but nothing happens". I teach college math, and I want
to show the clip to my students.

I believe that this quote was in CALLING ALL CURS (1939).

The name of the episode is 'Calling All Curs' - 1939

The three stooges run a pet hospital - they mistakenly give a tour
to two dog nappers posing as reporters who steal a prize poodle.


Here's the excerpt from this short that contains Curly's famous quote

Moe - Those guys weren't reporters they were dog nappers.
We gotta stall Mrs. Bedford off until we can find her dog.
Now start thinking...If possible

Larry - (remains silent while looking up with his hand on his cheek in a
thinking pose)

Curly - ( goes through a few moments of making crazy sounds and body
movements
and then hits himself on the
forehead a couple of times)

Moe (to Curly) - what are you doing?

Curly - I'm tryin to think but nothin' happens

And Americans wonder why we lag behind other countries in Math test
scores...
Only kidding. Perhaps if my teacher had used a little Stooges I would still
remember how to do long division.
