My favorite scene from It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World is the Stooges
cameo. They don't so anything, but stand there, dressed as firemen,
waiting for the plane carrying Mickey Rooney & Buddy Hackett to land at
the airport. That's the whole bit. Given their reps, we didn't have to
see the chaos that would ensue. Stanley Kramer was smart enough to let
our own imaginations fill in the blanks on what happened. A gifted film
maker, who's talent will be missed.
