Does anyone have a copy of the Stooges' appearance in this movie that they
would be willing to share for a small stipend to cover expenses? I'd very
much like to see a more energetic 1941 Curly doing the "Maja" bit. If so,
please leave e-mail and I will contact you. Thanks.

I have it, but the Maja bit is really shortened here, not as long as in Three
Little Pirates.

I have a copy of it somewhere, not sure where. It is another cheesy war time,
musical where the stooges are trying to get into the show....always trying out
new acts...kinda' like the begining of the Niagra Falls ep. The maha ha bit
was as good as I was expecting...I'm still waiting to see Shemp do it.

A healthy Curly did the Maha routine with Moe and Larry in the 1941 Columbia
feature film "Time Out for Rhythm." It's a fun little B musical, and the
Stooges costar throughout (great pun: "Laughing yet? We are here!"). The boys
have a hilarious nightclub Latin dance routine, with Curly dressed as Carmen
Miranda.

The stars include Rudy Vallee, Ann Miller (some of her best dance work!) and
one of my favorite charactor actors, Allan Jenkins.

This Maha routine is not exactly the same as in "Three Little Pirates;" it's
the version done by Moe, Larry and Curly-Joe during their '60s TV appearances
("Ed Sullivan" "Steve Allen"), and Moe, Larry and Shemp on "Texaco Star
Theater" ("The Milton Berle Show") in the late '40s.

You have to venture outside the Columbia shorts to find these little tidbits.

Time Out For Rhythm is a 1941 musical in which Moe Larry and Curly appear in a
few fleeting vignettes throughout the film. One of the routines they perform
is the Maja bit, but it is more hurried and truncated (likely due to time
constraints -- the Stooges appear to be mere filler). But it is certainly
interesting and worth seeing, as are any of the feature appearances (save for
seconds-long cameos like in My Sister Eileen).
