There was a clip from "Brideless Groom" used in Pulp Fiction, the scene where
Emil is saying, "Hold hands, you lovebirds." Eric Stoltz's character was
watching this Stooges short when Travolta called him on the phone. Emil
himself did not actually make an appearance in the film.

"Pulp Fiction" is cited in Emil's bio in the Internet Movie Database! What a
great way to close a wonderful career.

And don't forget...please vote for Emil in this year's B-Movie Hall of Fame

I think Emil auditioned for the part eventually taken by Tarrantino himself.

("Dead N*gg*r Storage, you lovebirds!")

I believe Sitka is actually in the film's credits, though his scenes are all
stock footage from "Brideless Groom".

I wonder - did SAG rules hold that Sitka had to be credited, or was that a
gesture on Tarantino's part?

Yes, Emil is in the credits. As to SAG rules, I'm not sure whether Tarantino
did it because he is a fan. Emil told me that as he watched Pulp Fiction's
credits
he was delighted when he saw his name up on the screen. He further delighted
in the checks he received for his appearance in the film. I think it was really
nice of Tarantino to include the "Brideless Groom" footage. Few of us are in a
position to do something like this for our Stooges favorites. Emil was an
absolute delight, whether in his Stooges and other film roles, or as a
wonderfully funny and personable human being. He and The Boys must be having
quite a time of it upstairs.

I believe you are absolutely correct. I'm no legal expert, but the scene is from
"Brideless Groom" which I understand is 'public domain' and no persmission or
payment is required. Emil received several checks and next to his name in the
credits, all it says is, "Hold Hands, You Lovebirds." It truly seems a grand
gesture for Mr. Tarantino to have acknowledged my father in this way. Although
Emil was a little baffled by it, it also gave him a great deal of satisfaction and
pride. Wherever you are, Mr. Tarantino, thank you.

I see Quentin about once a year or so, when he comes down to Austin to
visit with Mike Judge, Robert Rodriguez, Rick Linklater, etc. On his next
visit I'll see if I can get him to toss out a few words about Emil for
Saxon's web-site (QT's a very approachable guy, no matter what the
Hollywood press says)

I hope to see Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, Hercules, Xena), who appeared
with Emil in Crimewave, Intruder, etc, next week when he visits our fine
town. If I don't manage to collar him (he's only down for a few hours),
his home e-mail address is on his web site (brucecampbell.com) and he's
one Stooge fan who's always glad to answer questions from anyone. I
noticed that a card from Bruce's friend and co-worker Scott Spiegel is
already up at the Emil tribute site.

It is not unusual for TV shows to go uncredited when they are in the
background, think Dave Letterman in "Get Shorty" or Daffy Duck/Porky Pig
in "Duck Dodgers in the 24 and 1/2 Century" in "Close Encounters of the
Third Kind." Those things did not make it into the credits. Tarantino
may have his problems, but he was a class act in this regard.
