Hello All,

Dewey, Cheatem & Howe seems to be constantly linked to the Stooges.
I can't ever remember seeing it in any shorts. If it was, which one?

Thank you..........

ps - I was much less disappointed with the special last night than I
expected. It was pretty good all in all. Of course, if you don't count the
commercials, it was only about as long as one of their shorts !
It would have been nice to tie up some of the loose ends such as when they
talked about the Stooges being like a big family and showed them playing
hop-scotch it would have been good to mention who the two little girls on
the step were (Larry's daughters?). Also, point out Lucille Ball for those
who might not have recognised the short clip from 3 Little Pigskins Woody
was not too bad. It would be nice to introduce some of the family if they do
it again.

It did not appear in a Stooges comedy.

The closest is con man I. Cheatum in THREE PESTS IN A MESS (1945). The DC&H
link occurred in the mid-90s, when C3 licensed a blitz of tshirts, signs, and
other merchandise, combining the joke with the Stooges' likenesses. Actually,
it's an old vaudeville chestnut that predates the Three Stooges.

Joan Howard (Moe's daughter) and Phyllis Fine (Larry's daughter).

actually... I saw it on a door window in the special last night. Couldn't say
which short, but it was there!

But that was a door behind Woody H., not in an actual short.

Thanks for the info !

No it was an office door in one of the shorts. I'm not sure if it was an
attorney or a CPA office but it was on the door. It was a wooden office
door with opaque glass and the names were stenciled in: Dewey Cheatum and
Howe. (Do we cheat em? And how!)

The had a lot of little gags like that. One of my favorites was from Curly
and Moe reading a story. See the little deer. Does the little deer have a
little doe? Sointly 2 bucks!!!

Nope. The name was never mentioned in a Stooge short.

I didn't say it was "mentioned". What I did say was it was stenciled on an
office door. That my friend is a fact.

No, you're mistaken. The name was never mentioned nor stenciled
anywhere in a Stooge short. Like Beastooge already said before, the
closest thing they've ever done to this was "I. Cheatham" in THREE
PESTS IN A MESS.

I hope I didn't start a conflict here, I was just curious. I am always
curious about things that get associated with celebreties that they never
said or were not in their movies.

Thanks to all for the input and I'll chack out "Three Pests in a Mess"
myself.

No sir, you are mistaken. I will get the title for you.

For years I always thought that the "D.C. &H." was in one of the Stooge
shorts. I'm sure I one time asked myself which short(s) it was in, back in
the early 90's when I taped a lot of what I now have from Chicago's WPWR. I
looked but I never did find it, but at that time I didnt have all the shorts
either, and so I was convinced I must've seen it in one of them, maybe in
Philly back when I was a kid. After seeing it on the Special tuesday night
as a prop, it seemed like only more evidence to support my belief. It sure
does jibe well with the stuff they've done, doesn't it!
I went online after the mid-90s and I believe this subject has come up in
here before :-) And in light of what people here have had to say about
Dewey, Cheatem and... oops - um, I mean uh, "C-3"... I'm now almost
convinced it was some kind of advertisement I probably saw between shorts.
I am so disillusioned.
I am so disgusted.
Why...
"I'm at a loss for adjectives!"

:-(
