First up, something eerily uncanny that I'm sure the three remaining
readers of alt.comedy.marx-bros have thought about today.
1977: Groucho's death takes a backseat to that of Elvis Presley.
2009: Poor Farrah Fawcett loses her well-publicized battle with
cancer three hours before Jacko unexpectedly makes his final exit from
the big stage. Talk about bad timing.
Also: My husband (we're both in our mid-50s) mentions the above to
his two twentysomething female assistants at work, only to be met with
blank stares and this question (in unison):
"Who's Groucho Marx?"
He told 'em to Google it. <sigh>

That's right......Animal Crackers was actually rereleased to theaters
(I believe) in the late 70s.
I actually first saw it in the movie theater then
Animal Crackers was rereleased to theaters in 1973/74, and made its
network television premiere on CBS in 1979.
