Re Animated cartoon of Laurel and Hardy

I have been a fan of Laurel and Hardy for many years and can remember
watching the old black and white films. I still feel sad when the laughter
stops and the credits roll at the end of the film or compilation. I seem
to remember that an animated cartoon of Laurel and Hardy was shown in the
UK. I don't know who made it or what it was called. Can anyone help me
with this query.

Larry Harmon (see the Bozo connection) put out a cartoon during the
sixties, as i recall, along with a great deal of merchandising. Others
will undoubtedly know more about it than i do. Could this be what you
saw?

The L&H cartoon series was liscenced by Harmon, and produced thru some
strange amalgamation between Hanna-Barbera's cartoon studio and David
L. Wolper Productions...
The series was supposed to get started around 1960 or 1961, but there
were delays of (I believe) legal matters to be settled...the
merchandising actually pre-dated the cartoon series by several
years...Stan was dead before the cartoons ever got on the air (which
was perhaps just as well!)
