I became aquainted with Stan's daughter, Lois, and her husband Tony
Hawes, back in the late 80's at the Way Out West Tent meetings in LA.
She was always gracious, and her husband was a very gregarious hoot -
nice fellow! Those were grand meetings, with stars popping up now and
then - Henry Brandon was a regular, and I also had a chance to meet and
talk with Sunshine Sammy, Buster Keaton's widow and son, get Hal
Roach's autograph (!), and so many more. I last talked to Lois on the
phone in 1990, and had correspondance with her briefly around 1995
after Tony passed on. I have been unable to discern whatever happened
to her. Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

Hey JohnnyCat-

I was a regular in the early 80s at that tent. Boy, those days are long
gone. I remember all the folks you mentioned, plus Tom Hatten, Jackie Lyn
Taylor, Lucille Hardy Price, T. Marvin Hatley, Joe Rock, Joe Cobb, Porky
Lee, Thomas Benton Roberts (Two Tars), plus a host of others. The last time
I attended was about three years ago, and would you believe Jay Dare, their
Fox costumer, is still there? And still smoking?

I remember our Banquet in 1984 on the Queen Mary, and Tony had Herbert Lom
there as a guest!

Yes, Tony was a great guy. I wish I knew what happened to Lois. I have a
nice picture of the two of us at the long-gone Masquer's Club in Hollywood.
