What is with the Babes in Toyland drawing?
JN
Your guess is as good as mine. I didn't design the sign; I'm only selling it.

} Maybe this is from a later reissue? Any date on the sign?
}
} Mister Levity
There is no date on the front of the sign, as can be seen from the scan. The
back of the sign is completely blank. I don't think there were any later
theatrical reissues of The Big Noise. I sure hope not, as I already advertised
the sign as being from 1944.
Whoever designed the sign just seemed to have pasted on any eye-catching L&H
images he could find to fill the space.
If L&H had access to the explosive known as the "Big Noise" in Toyland, they
could have used it against Barnaby and the Bogeymen, but would have blown up
half of Toyland in the process!
>From Scott MacGillivray's book Laurel & Hardy - From The Forties
Forward, Page 86:
"In 1954, when the team's old two-reelers were sweeping the country on
televison, 20th Century-Fox decided to reissue a representative Laurel
& Hardy comedy to theaters-and chose THE BIG NOISE."

It is more than likely from the reissue, as during that same time it would
seem art work from Babes in Toyland (via the March of the Wooden Soldiers
reissue) was pretty handy.
In any case, it is a neato collector's item.

Card stock. As I stated in the description, it appears to be acid-free, as it
shows no sign of yellowing.

Thanks to both of you for helping me improve my ad.
Good luck with the bids. It is a cool item and I hope you net some $

Eric-- I admire your honesty. There are too many folks who would have
left their listing as is in hopes of getting bids, but you let
integrity rule the day. Seeing folks being honest always brightens my
day.

Honesty is the best politics.
