It's disappointing you were unable to do this from the Fantasy
masters.
About three years ago, one of the session 8 tracks came up on
eBay, but he wanted WAY too much for it. Who knows where it came
from..
>I'm sure you FT fans remember The Congress of Wonders! Their two
This is great! My LPs are so worn out. The audio clips sound good --
very clean. Seems to me there was more echo on the Organic Gardening
Angel, but ICBW, I'll have to check the LP.
For any Fireheads who don't know the Congress of Wonders, you would
definitely like them. "Sophomoric" was always the best album overall,
but there are pieces on "Revolting" that are brilliant, though dated.
"Sophomoric" is one of the best comedy albums ever made, period.
I wonder what Richard Rollins and Howard Kerr have been up to for the
last thirty years...

Back in the day, KSAN (or was it KMPX?) played tapes of longer versions
of several of the LP cuts, and at least one that never made it to disc.
Where are those tapes now?

From The Goldmine Comedy Record Guide: "The SF-based Congress of
Wonders were a little sillier than the Credibility Gap, and a lot
sillier than the Firesign Theatre." (Real brainy idea, putting out a
comedy record guide written by a guy who doesn't seem to find ANYTHING
funny).

Actually, y'know where this info really should be posted? Over at
alt.tv.star-trek.tos (tos = "the original series"), seeing as
"Revolting" contains what is most likely the longest Trek parody on
record, er, CD...
- Dr Strangemonde
They don't look like reissues at all, but rather rip-offs, "remastered"
from LPs, as they even admit. The web site doesn't call them reissues.
Are they paying royalties? I can't find them on Amazon, which carries
all kinds of obscurities.
If the copyright owners don't keep the material in print, they deserve
to have it released for them by fans; but that doesn't make it a
legitimate reissue.
How long is it? (I know, I know, that's a rather personal question)
Actually, our band, Cab City Combo (http://cdbaby.com/ccc) has a sketch
at the end of our first CD called SULU'S DAY that runs just short of
nine minutes long. Talk about dead air!
According to the Goldmine comedy records guide, CoW's Trek parody is
approximately 12 minutes long.
(Gosh, who knew there was a competition!?!)
- Dr Strangemonde
Actually, it's 11:48 - according to the liner notes.
So, what do I win?

Odd that this sounds like an advertisement.
