<Comrade_Yamamoto> You haven't been as bad
<klokwkdog> gee, Comrade, maybe that canned Miller stuff is stronger
than i thought...;-)
<Dexter_Fong> Cat: Can God touch his elbow to his ear?
<kend^> mgd isn't bad, klok, i'd rather have it than budweiser
<Regnad_Kcin> the pope is being held together with spit and duct tape
<Regnad_Kcin> or so i've heard
<klokwkdog> what if God was helping the Germans and Superman was on our
side?
<uhmeow> duct and cover?
<Regnad_Kcin> hah... i like my Old Style
<Comrade_Yamamoto> He's pretty ancient, he can barely stand much less sin
<Dexter_Fong> lol klok
<Regnad_Kcin> i don't think they ship it outside of chicago tho
<Comrade_Yamamoto> Can god touch is nose w/his tonge?
<klokwkdog> i can't have Bud, Ken, the drivers for the distributor
burned down the liquor store here 'cause they were selling Bud
<kend^> reg, i think i can get it here, but i rarely buy beer except in
a restaurant, it's always draft there
<Dexter_Fong> If He's toothless Yam
<Comrade_Yamamoto> klok Ask elayne that one
<Regnad_Kcin> suprising... always interesting to know how far regional
beers extend
<klokwkdog> it's an old joke, CY; I forget how it actually goes
<Comrade_Yamamoto> More of those toothless yams
<Dexter_Fong> And Spuds with eyes
<Regnad_Kcin> hey cat... you got that cuteftp all sorted out?
<kend^> i'll check, reg, and let you know
<Comrade_Yamamoto> On his feet
<klokwkdog> well, I'd say that Coors managed to get out of Colorado
<Dexter_Fong> And ready to march Yam?
<Comrade_Yamamoto> I'm not much for beer
<kend^> i used to think coors was great, back when it had to be smuggled in
<kend^> but i don't touch it now that i know a republican brews it
<Tornado_Bub> Never suck a breaker, even give.
<uhmeow> indeed, reg
<klokwkdog> ...and we seem to be getting a good supply of Anchor Steam
every time the Flying Cloud makes it back around the Horn from San
Francisco...
<Comrade_Yamamoto> Coors=fascist beer
<uhmeow> check out www.seemreal.com
<uhmeow> we couldnt get it to appear last week, but the next day, there
it was
<Comrade_Yamamoto> Don't drink anything brewed by someone named Adolph
<uhmeow> you didnt put it there, did you?
<Regnad_Kcin> coors is a step above hams, or so i remember it
<klokwkdog> well, they seem to be doing a good job of killing themselves
off, Ken
<kend^> i like ham, but sausage is better
<Comrade_Yamamoto> Whatever happened to Hammss?
<uhmeow> i put the new Tiny mp3 up on the Red Shift part of that site
today, complete with earthquake
<Tornado_Bub> I'd rather be a sausage than a ham, yes I am, yes I really
am.........
* Tornado_Bub wonders whate Garfunkle is ding these days....
<kend^> or as emeril says, "pork fat rules!"
<uhmeow> the elf?
<klokwkdog> Killian's Red is OK; Extra Gold is almost as good as Negra
Modelo (and cheaper), but a chick is running Modelo now and I feel bad
drinking beer made by an anti-union company
<Regnad_Kcin> shining simon's boots?
<kend^> klok: that's why i don't shop at walmart
<klokwkdog> he's probably being upstaged
<uhmeow> i just bought a bottle of spanish wine today, in preparation
for trip to spain
<Comrade_Yamamoto> I drink only root beer
<uhmeow> nice bottle
<Comrade_Yamamoto> Spanish wine?
<klokwkdog> I don't care one way or another about Wal-Mart; there is one
a mile and a half down the road, but I always get a creepy feeling in them.
<uhmeow> yeah, they complain a lot
<uhmeow> i'll pour a glass and see if franco comes back to life
<Dexter_Fong> afk for drink
<Comrade_Yamamoto> Damn spaniards
<Regnad_Kcin> as do i comrade... ever since i tore up my stomach (ain't
being a bachelor fun? how many nights in a row can i down a 6 pack and
order out pizza? ;)
<klokwkdog> Is he still dead?
<Comrade_Yamamoto> No, he's dead
<kend^> viva el rey carlos!
<Comrade_Yamamoto> oye vendecko
<Regnad_Kcin> ?tu madre es un puta grande?
<Comrade_Yamamoto> echh
<kend^> how sweet--i'm in a tornado watch area now
<klokwkdog> well, enjoy. I was told that all the water in Europe is
dangerous, so I'd have to drink Perrier, soft drink, beer or wine
<Regnad_Kcin> ?a donde es la biblioteca con las frijoles?
<Comrade_Yamamoto> Went to the John Dillenger HS spansh Classs, eh Regnad?
<kend^> where is the library with the beans?
<Comrade_Yamamoto> Beano should sort that out
<Regnad_Kcin> 2 years PLUS an extra of colegio

<uhmeow> very dry, like it says on the bottle
<Regnad_Kcin> im not one for wasting resources... but i love that thing
<kend^> nice try, klok, i don't think it works that way though. i have
"weatherbug" and it alerts me when there's a warning or watch
<Comrade_Yamamoto> too much spam from them
<klokwkdog> it's all those clicking sounds, CY
<Regnad_Kcin> i can read it :)
<uhmeow> carta nevada, means extra dry
<bfwestley> I just fixed a minor bug in the nick danger game, in case

<Comrade_Yamamoto> No that's a map of Las Vegas, cat
<uhmeow> is that basque?
<kend^> a tisket, a tasket, a red and yellow basque-et
<uhmeow> lol, kend
<Comrade_Yamamoto> Catalan, I think
<uhmeow> we'll be in barcelona for a few days
<kend^> was that ella or sarah that did that one?
<klokwkdog> we designed the NEXRAD system to work that way, Ken. It
raises the beam energy by a factor of 10 and it heats up all the precip
on one edge and it moves somewhere else. You can do a whole radial, a
group of radials, or just bins along a radial(s)
<Comrade_Yamamoto> Lucky you
<Dexter_Fong> Ken: Ella
<kend^> cat: check out the barcaloungers in barcelona
<Regnad_Kcin> catalan turns the "s"es into "th"es doesn't it?
<Comrade_Yamamoto> MANY moons ago
<Dexter_Fong> Thure reg
<Regnad_Kcin> but can you do whitewalls klok?
<kend^> reg: i think that's galician, but i could be wrong
<Comrade_Yamamoto> Catalan is the lispy language
<uhmeow> and portugese turns it all into sh

scale. If it says "precip mode", you can drag the Alert boxes

light planes and birds.
<kend^> not "s", only soft "c" and "z"
<kend^> good plan, dex :)
<Tornado_Bub> I'm gonna drop out now (and unfortunately not tune in or

<uhmeow> i think this dry wine might be good with a certain cuisine
<uhmeow> i'll be interested in finding out which one
<Comrade_Yamamoto> A japanese Ukranian imitating Mrexicans?
<Dexter_Fong> I agree Cat
<uhmeow> something subtle
<Comrade_Yamamoto> Dry Wine=jut add water
<klokwkdog> Europeans are very fussy about matching wine and entree,
Cat. You have to be careful when ordering or they will take you for an
American
<Dexter_Fong> And ask a big ransom
<kend^> just ask for the house wine
<kend^> they will know which one to give you
<uhmeow> i'll ask them to do it for me
<Comrade_Yamamoto> I hear they have some nice fish dishes out that way
<uhmeow> that's the plan, kend
<klokwkdog> "why can't I get better odds in this place?"
<kend^> paella in spain falls mainly on the tourists
<uhmeow> i love fish, like all cats
<klokwkdog> LOL, BTW, DF
<Dexter_Fong> Cat: Do you chew on house plants too
<kend^> best paella i ever had contained baby octopus
<uhmeow> i know fish is big in barcelona, but in the interior, it's
rare, or so i hear
<klokwkdog> even Persian?
<Comrade_Yamamoto> There's some good fish dishes out that way
<uhmeow> just meat
<klokwkdog> the other white meat
<uhmeow> pealla always good
<Comrade_Yamamoto> I need to go to Europe
<klokwkdog> they have some good food dishes over there, too

<uhmeow> i have to check out vancouver's spanish restaurants soon
<Comrade_Yamamoto> Atkins can take a hike
<klokwkdog> it's like french food - lots of fancy sauces
<uhmeow> i think i know what to eat in italy, at least to start with
<kend^> i always liked the trout a la russe in spanish restaurants.
broiled, covered with chopped boiled eggs
<klokwkdog> the Appetizer?
<uhmeow> spanish food has sauces? i didnt know that
<kend^> salsa=sauce
<Comrade_Yamamoto> Nearly anything is good
<uhmeow> oh i see
<kend^> or, salsa=funky music
<klokwkdog> not the peasant food, the high-class stuff
<Comrade_Yamamoto> see what you miss living in canada
<uhmeow> well, i miss having gw bush for president
<klokwkdog> yeah, getting hit up for $$$ to pay for a war with Iraq. Again.
<kend^> you ain't missin' anything there
<Dexter_Fong> We do to Cat
<uhmeow> only in the sense that i miss having leukemia
<klokwkdog> It
<Comrade_Yamamoto> Spanish sauces are lighter than the French, tho if IIRC
<klokwkdog> It's like they keep charging you and don't fix your car...
<uhmeow> i love sauces
<Comrade_Yamamoto> They've been doing this for years
<klokwkdog> elections more corrupt than Mexico's (gad, talk about Free

<Dexter_Fong> Spanish sauces like Italian sauces have some French
influences but reatin their own traditions
<Comrade_Yamamoto> I heard on the news the other day the FBI is being
transferred from the war obn drugs
<klokwkdog> businesses more corrupt than Mexico's...
<uhmeow> oo, suaces with drugs. i may never come back!

<Comrade_Yamamoto> You have to register
<Dexter_Fong> Figure nobody's listening Yam
<kend^> but it's free
<Comrade_Yamamoto> EAS during Schubert sucks
<klokwkdog> I think it's more that it's during a piece of music from a
company that did not pay off the station or its conglomerate owner enough
<Comrade_Yamamoto> Public Station
<uhmeow> damn. it didnt recognize my old password or id. guess i'm not

<kend^> eas during some modern composers is an improvement, though

<kend^> i wonder if the euro symbol works in here? i don't know the code

<klokwkdog> ah, here it is, £4 - split the diffrnc
<uhmeow> louise's church, laury nyro song on my salon speakers at present
<Dexter_Fong> 3 bucks
<Comrade_Yamamoto> If you've run winblows update lately, the Euro symbol

<uhmeow> never heard any of her 90s music until now, loved her 60s stuff
<kend^> euro roughly equal to $, but up and down
<klokwkdog> you can't do it with Code 850, Ken, you need WinXP or ME,

<klokwkdog> RealAudio has become real nasty about wanting a credit card,
even for "free" version, but Netscape 6.2.3 comes with built-in
RealAudio 8 that works fine - no phony registration-then-cancel move
required. Haven't tested that with dialup, though.
<Comrade_Yamamoto> that should do
<Comrade_Yamamoto> There we go
<uhmeow> astrobotnia, the only other good track i've heard on the salon
preumium site thus far, after laura
<klokwkdog> what's that?

<klokwkdog> Oh, AOL!! Ah, AOL is a real nightmare to do RealAudio with!
No wonder!
<Comrade_Yamamoto> AOL is a nightmare for anything
<klokwkdog> They route world+dog thru Tyson's Corner first or something.
<klokwkdog> Ah, sorry
<Comrade_Yamamoto> But it is a half decent firewall
<klokwkdog> I had a cheap local ISP
<klokwkdog> which, yes, now sends more spam in a day than I formerly got
my entire life
<uhmeow> those dumb horses, they don't mind
<Comrade_Yamamoto> Spam levels are VERY low
<klokwkdog> The trick there I guess is to get cheap local ISP, disable
the mail, and use a Yahoo account or something
<uhmeow> an interesting lyric on eileen rose's tune good man
<klokwkdog> If you have Netscape 6.2.3 installed, it will plug RIGHT
into Netscape/AOL's web mail system like it was a POP
<klokwkdog> but it won't retrieve AOL mail

your computer w/o you saying it can

<klokwkdog> what Byrds song? I'm going to catch that horse if I can?
<uhmeow> phil austin played him in an old firesign play you probably

<Comrade_Yamamoto> Okay
<klokwkdog> he's pulling rank on us again
<uhmeow> i asked him to play mr ed again in red shift, but he demurred,
played dalai lama instead
<uhmeow> yeah, that's it klok
<uhmeow> maybe 69 or so?
<klokwkdog> I tried dali lama, but couldn't find his number
<uhmeow> i played that on the radio in 69-70
<uhmeow> but forget what or who it was
<uhmeow> that is a very long time ago

<uhmeow> indeed
<klokwkdog> We All Want Justice, But You Have to Have The Money to Buy It
<klokwkdog> Every One is Going Through Changes
<uhmeow> i hadn't evne unpacked my reel to reel machine until this week
and then i wanted to hear that song and it was only on reel
<klokwkdog> Unemployed, I walk in circles thru my neighborhood
<uhmeow> even better is his Jarrow Lads tune on the next album, which i
bought the week Fumiyo and I were married b ut now hav eonly only on
reel and forget the name of it
<klokwkdog> The soundtrack to O Lucky Man! is on one of the tapes I
trudge to 4 days a week
<klokwkdog> hence the comment about the ice cream parlor - 3.5 mi. is
too far; I'm barely up to walking that one way right now
<uhmeow> yes, lucky man is one of the albums i've listend to more than
most in the past 30 yeqrs
<klokwkdog> you can find the album on CDNOW.com, perhaps
<klokwkdog> I went looking for Price a couple years back to find out
what happened (after being distressed by what I found with Jade Warrior)
<uhmeow> i walked 2 miles a day (up hill one, down the other) in july,
this month will ascend the hill twice, next month 3 ties daily for a 6
mile walk

<uhmeow> i wasnt a big fan of the animals\but i loved when dylan asked
him, so what are the animals doing for an organist, in the Dont Look
<uhmeow> BBack flick
<klokwkdog> The "Chocolate Sandwich" sequence in the film keeps it from
being shown uncut, and it's usually cut because it's awful long, too
<klokwkdog> WPKN aired the DVD commentary track on that and it's one I
definitely want to rent.

<uhmeow> there's an old guy (i'm far from young) walking down the alley

<uhmeow> as if from a parade
<klokwkdog> It started at 2AM and I stayed up all night listening to
this running commentary by the filmmakers
<uhmeow> it is a surreal world
<klokwkdog> hmm, not Anzac day
<klokwkdog> every day reminds us of that, you more than most, I guess
<uhmeow> we don't need to be any weirder than the world is just to
appreciate that
<uhmeow> and you havent even heard any of my plays
<klokwkdog> yep, but amid all the turmoil and splashing waves, there is
a definite tide to existence for each and the collective
<uhmeow> the firesigns, who are delighted to be in them, always tell me,
i'm weirder than even they can comprehend

<uhmeow> klok, the flick is called La Jette. one of the best flicks i've
ever seen and the greatest influence on my idea of cinema of any flick
<klokwkdog> It is being writ down as you type, Cat
<uhmeow> when you see my flicks, you'll say to yourself, wow, that sure
looks like a flick made by someone who was seriously into La Jette
<Dexter_Fong> La Jette = The jump?
<klokwkdog> He once told Dick Cavett that "one more man must die" before
he could tell what he did in the Resistance; I was hoping that could
come out now, but it hasn't that I've seen
<uhmeow> la jette is like firesign, it is a different way of
experiencing a medium, that, if you are also creative, makes you want to
invent one of your own
<klokwkdog> Yeah, like a low-rent version of Seven Days (which had its
comic moments, too)
<uhmeow> no, jette means a kind of section of an airport, a tarmac, as
it were, dont know enough french, but it refers to a section of the
paris airport where, "things happen"
