THE PREMIERE Mike Rann, has been accused of attempting to control
media, by The Advertiser's senior editor.

Melvin Mansell last week likened the Premiere's attempt to stifle
media, to the Chinese Government's censorship and freedom of speech
issues, by accusing Mr Rann of attempting to stifle the Opposition
Leader Martin Hamilton-Smith's vision for the future of the state on
891 ABC Adelaide.

The senior editor of Adelaide's major newspaper, The Advertiser,
criticized the Premiere for taking exception to The Advertiser's
coverage of the Liberal plan for the CBD's northwestern fringe; which
has as its masterpiece, a new multipurpose sports stadium on the city
railyards. This plan is at direct odds with Mr Rann's plan to build a
$1.7 billion hospital on the same site.

Melvin also talked of Media Mike's well-established media policy of
blaming The Advertiser when someone dares raise an idea which
contradicts the Government line. Mr Rann also boldly declared that The
Advertiser's coverage was "extraordinary" because the newspaper was
"backing Martin Hamilton-Smith".

Mr Mansell stated "The truth is The Advertiser does believe Adelaide
needs a new world-class stadium, but, as Mr Rann should be acutely
aware, this does not mean the newspaper stifles debate."

Mike Rann is just talk.
He's had almost eight years to prove he can do something - and he
hasn't.
All we got was trams.

I love his ideas. I love his orientation towards listening to
Australians - and not pushing his own selfish political agenda (like
Mike Rann)

Actually a newspapers first priority is to their shareholders as a
listed company. Everything else is second after making a profit.

Look at the history of Southbank from its initial conception and
including the Casino and also look at Docklands and its history from
the offer of the Stapled Debt Coupons. And learn the lessons or go
broke as did the initial investors in Southbank (Chia & Westpac), the
Casino (now owned by Packer) and the Stapled Debt Coupon investors
(and subsequent owners) in Docklands have.

Mike you don't have a Trasport Plan, the budget is not able to support
80% of your promisses, and the state is loosing the creative and
productive population. Let's see how are you going to pay for all your
election promisses.

the one thing that is missing from this debate is the Adelaide Oval...
We have a stadium in the city... and it is an oval stadium, suitable
for football and cricket. We already have a soccer stadium at
Hindmarsh, whilst not in the city, once the tram is up and running it
will be easily accessible. Why do we need two football ovals in within
200 meters of each other??? Surely the real debate should be on
returning Aussie Rules to the Adelaide Oval by getting the SACA and
the SANFL to sit down and work it out! If the Advertiser was really
unbiased, surely this would be the best option to pursue and debate???
On the MHS plan itself, I love everything about it... the footbridges,
the Enter Centre, etc, everything except the Stadium, when we have the
Adelaide Oval sitting there barely 200m away...!

Mike Rann Media Advisor Caught Spinning on Wikipedia
SOUTH Australian Premier has been caught using his media advisors to
manipulate what the public perceive of him on
Wikipedia.
In a shocking scandal, it has been revealed Mike Rann has been using a
Wikipedia user, Timeshift9, to manipulate public
image. This comes as Russian iron-clad president resigned after almost
half a century of dominion over his country,
particularly through their media. The user was caught reverting user
edits, namely "Where Is The Good News Mike" (The
Advertiser), and attempting to remove any negative pieces on the
premier.
The Premier has also tipped backward on the scale, with opposition
Martin Hamilton-Smith performing extremely well on
the polls.
Looks like there might be a Rannward-slide
