Lovely vintage still life oil painting. The colors are
gorgeous ...with large yellow roses, and smaller red
rose buds....arranged in a large blue pottery vase.
Accented with a small Japanese figurine. I would
estimate it dates to the 1940's/50's era. Expertly
painted on canvas board, it is signed "M. Whelan",
and in the original frame. (Possibly listed in Davenport's
Art Reference. They list a Mary Eleanor Whelan as a 20th
century artist, from Santa Monica, California.)
