Help! I saw at DC some face painting but I didnt participate, what I
was doing I have no clue--but probably too shy to jump in as was my
first convo then.
I have a Dawn who has a very pretty face, but absolutely NO color on
her lips. I am feeling brave and was wondering what kind of paint and
do i use a sealer and what kind?? thanks kids!! Marnie

I have already emailed Marnie with the info she was seeking about
repainting her Dawn lips.
I am posting here so others who would like to know can also be
informed. Use acrylic paint on your Dawn dolls. You can find
inexpensive brands at craft stores, fabric stores and even at
Wallmart. I would recommend using the Delta brand. It is cheap yet
has a good quality. To protect your new paint job apply an acrylic
varnish/sealer over it. You can find this in the same aisle with the
acrylic paint. You can choose from matte, satin or glossy.
Keep a cotton ball or paper towel and rubbing alcohol handy. If you
paint the lips and aren't satisfied with them you can wipe off the
paint with the alcohol and start again. If you don't want to buy a
paintbrush to paint the lips with than use a pointed end toothpick. It
works pretty good for a single color with no blending. If your doing
blending you'll need that brush. Also, I would recommend watering down
your paint some. Better to do a couple thin coats than one blobby
coat. Hope this helps someone.

Michelle certainly does great paint jobs but I can add one tip. If you
do buy a paintbrush it can be easier to use if you trim it to a very
fine point of about three hairs for fine work.
