This is really a Pen Shop - caps intended. The have a whole host of
bosy high end and low end pens and Daniel was kind enough to show me
some really cool pens that Pelikan are coming out with. I really
enjoyed it because not once was there any pressure to buy anything. I
was made to feel like an old friend and treated very well.
The pens - as I said, they have a whole lot of stuff (you can check
their website at http://www.pengallery.com for more details). A few
things that stood out were the two Pelikan 600 size pens with
celluloid finishes (the Berlin in green and Stockholm in blue - more
info at http://www.pelikan.de/pe/ikan?PV434E). I thought they were
some of the nicest Pelikans I'd seen. In additions, Daniel showed me
two bp and fp sets of Pelikan 200s, one set was translucent red and
the other was green. Lovely! According to him, retail price for the
fps would be about USD65 which makes the street price pretty cheap. A
great way to start collecting. More info at

and I think they look really cool.
The coolest thing I saw was Daniel's Lamy with a italic nib he'd
fitted from a caligraphy pen. It had Pelikan purple ink and was a joy
to write with. I would have bought the nib and ink on the spot but
unfortunately he didn't have any in stock.
Daniel had three different pens filled with Pelikan green but writing
with them would make you think they were all using different inks! I
hadn't realise how much lighter or darker the ink could appear
depending on which pen was used.
I had a great time talking with Daniel about pens in general and time
flew by. All in all I had a wonderful time and hope to drop in and
actually buy something when I'm next in Kuala Lumpur. This is how
I'd imagine all great pen shops would be and if you're anywhere in the
neighbourhood, you owe it to yourself to drop in. Highly recommended!
Best Wishes,
Gerry
